Samsung Galaxy S10 Coming With “Excellent” Battery Optimizations & Cooling

0

It seems like leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S10 keep coming in. As we continue to put an end to the first month of 2019, some noteworthy news regarding the Galaxy S10 family has just emerged.

According to Ice Universe, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 would feature a ton of battery optimizations as well as a much more “advanced cooling structure”. This means that not only has Samsung refined their SoCs, but it seems like they should be adding a collection of battery optimizations on the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup of devices. Top that off with a much more efficient cooling process and Samsung could potentially introduce some major revamps to the overall experience of their upcoming devices.

If true, this could put Samsung in a spotlight yet again after companies like Huawei have been showing off their innovation over the past few years.

Huawei, with the P20 lineup and the Mate 20 lineup have been very vocal about their battery optimizations. Since Huawei has been working on these tweaks for quite a while, it’s respectable to see Samsung borrowing a few of those tweaks and possibly even add a few of their own on the Samsung Galaxy S10. Moreover, coupling that with the new battery sizes that are expected to debut on the new Galaxy S10 lineup and we should see Samsung finally winning some hearts again.

According to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, S10, S10 Plus are said to feature 3100mAh, 3500mAh, and 4000mAh batteries. Additional leaks have also suggested that not only would Samsung bump up the battery sizes on their upcoming devices, but the Galaxy S10 Plus specifically would be 9% thinner than the S9 Plus despite the fact that it would be packing a larger cell under its shell.

What specifically does the “advanced cooling structure” entail is yet to be seen. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Samsung going with vapor-chamber liquid cooling yet again this year now that they’ve introduced it with the Galaxy Note 9.

All-in-all, we can’t wait to see what Samsung has in store for their Galaxy S10 Unpacked event. There’s a ton of hype surrounding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup and we’re definitely expecting to see Samsung put on a show now that their rivals from the Chinese coast are gaining on them.

Google’s Next Pixel, “Coral”, Featuring A Snapdragon 855 Emerges On Geekbench

0

Google’s next Pixel device, Coral, has just emerged on Geekbench. With 2019 beginning with a number of bangs are around about to get crazier as we head through 2019. New leaks have emerged from Google’s cockpit suggesting the development of potentially yet another device that’s being expected to launch later this year.

Based on the details we’re able to derive from Geekbench‘s database, it seems like this mysterious device would be an update to the recently-launched Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The listing suggests that the so-called “coral” device from Google would pack a Snapdragon 855 SoC along with 6GB RAM. However, the highlights do not end there. According to the listing, it seems like this mysterious device would run on Android Q out of the box and would also be among the first batch of devices to run it given Google’s strong track records.

Scores achieved by the mysterious device are right in-line with what we’ve seen from other Snapdragon 855-powered devices including the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S10 family and the Lenovo Z5 GT. The device scored 3296 and 9235 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Other details regarding the device weren’t found. However, this does bring a ton of attention towards Google’s upcoming moves as they progress into a 5G-engulfed, notch-free world. And as we progress further, we’re expecting to see Google follow along with the trends now that Samsung and OnePlus are potentially giving their S10 and OnePlus 7 lineup a design overhaul.

Given that Google releases their Pixels in October, there’s a good chance that we may see Google launch the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL earlier this year now that leaks have started to emerge already unlike what Google did with the Pixel 3 leak feuds.

Xiaomi Launches Its Biggest Mi Store of Europe In Paris, France

0

Xiaomi has been phenomenal with their product lineup these past couples of years. The momentum gained by the company is definitely worth praising since the Mi brand went from nothing to one of the most important smartphone manufacturers. Xiaomi released quite a few polarizing devices last years from the Pocophone F1(Review) to the Mi Mix 3. It is clear that Xiaomi promotes versatility and plans on expanding globally.

After immense success in the Asian and Indian markets, Xiaomi has started to take baby steps in conquering the European markets as well. It all started with Xiaomi products going on sale in the UK and now the brand plans on launching its Mi stores throughout the continent. Xiaomi inaugurated the biggest Mi store in Europe just this week. The Mi store would showcase all Xiaomi products from smartphones to electric scooters and everything in between. It is evident that Xiaomi wants to leave a mark on the international scale and what better way than to open up their largest outlet in the world famous Champs-Élysées in Paris.

The inauguration ceremony also resulted in Xiaomi giving away gifts worth over €50,000 this not only resulted in an overwhelming turnout but also spread their message to provide quality products at honest pricing. This move by Xiaomi will not only make an average consumer aware of the brand but will make their products more accessible throughout the continent without any hassle. One of the most appealing quality about the manufacturer is that they cover almost every single market when it comes to consumer technology and getting into their ecosystem is extremely easy. The dawn of Mi stores could possibly mean that Xiaomi devices for the first time ever will directly compete with mainstream smartphones like Apple, Samsung and various other international brands.

This global expansion if carried on throughout various other cities could spell trouble for competitors and may very well mean a new target for the irresistible Mi products.

Samsung Launches The 14nm Exynos 7904 Targeting Indian Audiences

0

The race for Budget smartphones gets more intense as each day passes by. Chinese manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi not only push the limits themselves but force competitors to outdo themselves as well. As the competition intensifies, so comes forth the need for budget SoCs. Samsung out of all is a world-renowned hardware manufacturer and they have just launched a brand new mobile processor targeting the budget end of the spectrum.

Samsung is known for its Galaxy S lineup in the smartphone world equipped with top of the line hardware and features but it seems that after all this time Samsung has felt the need to mass produce a processor to wow the mid-range audiences. The Exynos 7904 is the brand’s latest addition to its fleet of processors. The chipset is based on the 14nm architecture which means that smartphones won’t get that insane efficiency like the 7nm SoCs. The 7904 focusses on the day to day tasks by enhancing user experience in all departments like web browsing, multi-tasking and multimedia consumption. The Exynos 7 Series 7904 is equipped with two Cortex-A73 cores that run at 1.8-GHz, and six Cortex-A53 cores at 1.6 GHz. The powerful A73 big core throttles the single-core benchmarks to deliver fast and snappy performance in key areas.

The processor’s ISP supports single camera resolutions up to 32 MP with up to triple camera setups for all the fun features including bokeh, wide angle etc. Moreover, the 7904 supports a staggering 120 fps video on FHD quality with UHD video at 30 fps. The camera features on the 7904 seem to look amazing and for a chipset targetting mid-range smartphones we can expect wonders nevertheless. Furthermore, the connectivity features of the processor are neat as well. The LTE modem allows support for Cat.12 3-carrier aggregation for 600-Mbps downlink speed decent for what the purpose of the chipset is. Sure you won’t be getting 5G standards which are the talk of 2019 but given the standpoint of the SoC, it pretty much achieves everything it is supposed to.

Battery life is key and with lesser horsepower, we can expect the phone housing the processor to do well automatically. One thing of notice here is that at this time Samsung has no budget option in their smartphone lineup to directly compete with Chinese manufacturers and the launch of this SoC especially in India can prove to be a turning point for them.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Would Feature A Much Improved Software Experience Around The Punch-hole

0

The punch hole displays or how Samsung likes to call the “Infinity-O” displays have started to emerge at a steady rate. It seems that the adaption of the punch hole design has been faster than the last gen notch. The minimalistic hole seems to appeal more to manufacturers and consumers which not only maximizes the screen to body ratio but also manages to give the device an aesthetic look. Samsung out of all is definitely the biggest brand to hop in the bandwagon and consumers certainly have high hopes for their upcoming Galaxy S10.

Samsung released its first ever punch hole smartphone back in 2018 dubbed the Galaxy A8s having a top corner hole and no sort of notch. Samsung has been quite determined on their game plan avoiding all sort of trends in 2018 and now it seems they plan on leading one. Ice Universe released a video showcasing the A8s and how Samsung built its software around that punch hole. It is no doubt that many of the Chinese manufacturers have joined the race but it is clear that only Samsung is capable to refine the design as compared to competitors. The short footage shows how one can access the camera from the lock screen on their A8s and possibly the S10.

Samsung has conveyed how they approached the Alpha series by experimenting more and more and then bringing that innovation to the flagship lineup. This proves to be a very bold move by Samsung to actually give the Alpha series a proper introduction after all these years. The Chinese budget smartphones definitely have influence over the decision but it proves to be a valid move. Software development has come a long way for Samsung. Gone are the days when one would convey his pain of using TouchWiz and a third party launcher was almost a necessity. The software aspect of the punch hole design will most certainly be of immense value and if perfected could outrun competitors. If they play their cards in order like they have been doing then success is inevitable.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Leak Suggests Ceramic Body, 1TB Storage & 12GB RAM

0

It seems like Samsung is planning to shape things up even further this year in the design department. New leaks and reports have emerged suggesting that the Samsung is planning to shake up its material choices.

Courtesy of Ice Universe, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus would be bumping its RAM and storage capacity by a huge margin this year. According to the tipster, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus would pack 12GB of RAM along with 1TB of internal storage. In addition to that, the tipster also suggested the introduction of a ceramic body that seems to be exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus for being the beefiest of the bunch.

The Galaxy S10+ 12GB/1TB version will have a ceramic back cover. This ceramic has a special process that is not only scratch resistant but also resistant to falling, but the weight will increase. This is the most advanced version of the S10+. There is a metallic luster. – Ice Universe via Twitter

The tipster further added that the ceramic that Samsung is planning to use on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus would not only be shiny, but would also be strong enough to withstand general drops despite being heavier than 210g this time around. And for those who are unaware about ceramic, brands that have used ceramic on their phones in the past have always enjoyed an incredible experience being scratch-resistant while maintaining the feel of a glass-back phone. However, since ceramic is brittle, drops could easily break a large chunk of the body resulting in a massive disappointment and repair cost.

This is what the Mi Mix 2 featuring a ceramic back looks like after being dropped | Image via XiaomiToday

That’s a ton of new information that has come to light regarding the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Regardless of what previous leaks have suggested, it seems like there would be no Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition given that many tipsters who claimed the existence of the device have simply dropped it from their topics for now. If the device actually exists, this could mean that Samsung could potentially delay the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition until 5G matures in a number of regions.

What remains to be confirmed aside from the leaks is the introduction of UFS 3.0 storage on the Galaxy S10 as we had speculated last year. If Samsung managed to pull this off, albeit on the higher-end models, this could be ground-breaking after Chinese competition continued to bombard Samsung’s market share last year.

With Samsung announcing the date and venue for the Galaxy S10’s UNPACKED event, there’s a ton of expectations that we had inside ourselves that have to be met with this launch. Can’t wait to see what Samsung pulled out of their magic hat this year. The countdown continues…

Exynos 9820 Powered Samsung Galaxy S10 Geekbench Scores Leak

0

Only a few weeks remain for Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S10 for its 10 year anniversary. Up until now, we’ve learnt quite a lot about the device from each and every model alongside their configuration to the actual design of the device. The S10 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2019 and would most definitely set the tone for various products from different manufacturers. With great design and innovation comes the actual brain of the device which shall determine the standpoint of the phone amongst others.

Samsung will house the brand new Exynos 9820 chipset for the S10 and the first round of Geekbench scores are here courtesy of Ice Universe. Right off the first glance, we’re looking at a single core score of 4382 with a multi-core score of 9590. Now, given the hype cycling around the release, one would expect benchmark scores way superior to any device available on the market but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. The single core score seems satisfactory but the multicore score does not do justice with what enthusiasts were expecting. The multicore score barely reaches 9600 just shy of an aesthetic score of 10000. Given how a geekbench score by a Xiaomi device codenamed, “Cepheus” was above 10000 seems very discouraging for fans.

Moreover, Apple’s chipset game has been unparalleled to any Android competitor and it seems that even the iPhone X from 2017  has an edge over the latest and greatest from Android when it comes to raw power. Let us not, however, jump to conclusions as this is merely a leaked score that too one of its kind. The Galaxy S10 is sure to come with the Snapdragon 855 and we could expect variable results in the future.

Google To Acquire Fossil’s Smartwatch Technology For $40M

0

Smartwatches have shaped up the modern fashion wear for a wide range of audiences. The smartwatch category not only focusses on fashion and productivity but also targets tech enthusiasts with innovative tech built right into your wrist device. Fossil out of all pushed innovation in smartwatches to the very extreme with their unique design and is one of the most popular brands when it came down to looks and practicality. The company itself was doing very well until 2018 and topped our top 5 smartwatch list for 2018.

Google, however, confirmed that it will acquire Fossil Group’s smartwatch tech for a whopping $40 million and will continue to work on the technology to improve it even more. It is clear that Google wants to jump in the smartwatch race and with Samsung and Apple’s smartwatches already established, Google would not want to start from scratch. The smartwatches will continue to run Google’s Wear OS and thanks to this shift of authority we may expect a jump in the consumer base. CNBC also reported an 8% increase in Fossil’s stock market price which is definitely worth noting. The deal itself is expected to close out this month.

The new smartwatch is set to compete with Apple’s smartwatch and every other major competitor coming in Google’s way. This acquisition will most certainly benefit Google and with a change of power, we can expect a change in game plan as well. This will not only bring a wider range of audiences towards the platform but will also allow Google to completely set up its ecosystem similar to how Apple operates. It will definitely be interesting to see how Google covers the ever-growing market for smartwatches for they’ll certainly need to bring something new to the table.

Motorola Moto G7 Press Renders, Images & Price Sheets Leaked

0

Motorola is about to launch their next device, the Moto G7 for the mid-range market. As fans expect to see the successor to the legendary G5, then the G6 and now the G7, anticipation for Motorola’s upcoming G7 is building up.

Leaked images, details and price points regarding the upcoming Motorola G7 lineup of devices have leaked online suggesting what we could expect from Motorola this year as they continue to battle in the mid-range market.

As expected, the Moto G7 lineup consists of the usual three devices along with an additional making its way towards the end. According to the report by MySmartPrice, it seems like Motorola is planning to release the Moto G7 Play, Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, and Moto G7 Power next month.

Details regarding the upcoming Moto G7 Play include its price tag, which is said to be priced at EUR 149 along with a decent set of hardware compliment the price tag. Expect to see the Snapdragon 632 and the 625 on the upcoming Motorola G7 Play and Power. Regarding the pricing of the G7 Power, that’s expected to retail for about EUR 209.

As the name suggests, the Moto G7 Power would emphasize a ton of its capabilities on a large battery, that is said to be 5000mAh according to the report. In addition to that, all four of the devices would support fast-charging out of the box without a mention of what type of fast-charging we’re looking at. However, given that these devices would be powered by Snapdragon SoCs and the fact that Motorola hasn’t done much apart from what Qualcomm has offered with their Quick Charge technology, we could expect to see support for Quick Charge 3.0 and possibly 4.0 with these upcoming devices, especially on the higher-end variants of the G7.

The last two devices Motorola would be releasing next month are the G7 and the Moto G7 Plus, two devices that are expected to be incredible options for the mid-range market. According to the same report, the G7 and the G7 Plus are expected to pack a Snapdragon 660 SoC under the hood along with a waterdrop notch to house the camera set up under the hood.

With Xiaomi’s introduction into the European market along with the long-time legend, Nokia joining the European market, this year’s competition is about to get a whole lot tougher than Motorola expected.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Crushes The Durability Test

0

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is one of the most polarizing smartphones of 2018. The Mi Mix 3 acted as the brand’s best player when it came down to maximizing the screen to body ratio and compete with others. The Mi Mix 3 offered a different solution to the notch problem by adopting the slider magnet mechanism from old cell phones. The slider proved to be logical and more trustworthy than the pop-up camera module on the Vivo and the whole top lifted by a motor on the Oppo Find X.  The Mi Mix 3 stays relevant even in 2019 due to the fact that Xiaomi announced 5G models of the device and even showcased their product. The fact that every major manufacturer is working tirelessly to bring 5G to the mainstream markets allows Xiaomi to be in a prime position after all.

The youtuber JerryRigEverything uploaded yet another durability test video and this time, the Mi Mix was put up for the challenge. The device held up quite well when the glass front and ceramic back were put to the test. The slider itself is built with daily wear and tear kept in mind and does not want to break quite easily. The sandwich of a phone does have a tiny gap between the two portions which will allow tiny particles to sneak through and cause permanent damage. Surprisingly enough the Mi Mix 3 does exceptionally well in the bend test and does not give up at all. The device itself is quite flexible but in a good and assuring way.

With the punch hole display easily the norm of 2019 since many brands have started to adopt the feature like Huawei, Samsung & Xiaomi itself. We should expect to see many different workarounds to achieve that sweet near 100% screen to body ratio. Moreover, it’ll be interesting to see how manufacturers try to improve durability standards whilst trying to maximize screen to body ratios.

Samsung Galaxy A40 Appears On Geekbench – Yet Another Mid-Ranger From Samsung

0

Yet another day and yet another leak. 2019 is continuing Samsung’s bangs as new devices continue to appear filling in all of the nooks and crannies of the smartphone market. It seems like the Samsung Galaxy A40 has just appeared on Geekbench suggesting the imminent launch of yet another device.

According to the Geekbench result, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy A40 (2019) would carry SM-A405FN as its model number and would feature yet another mid-range spec sheet under the hood. Based on the Geekbench leak, the Samsung Galaxy A40 would feature an Exynos 7885 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. In addition to that, the device would run on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and managed to score some decent benches on Geekbench.

The device scored 1322 and 3987 in its single-core and multi-core tests which is pretty typical of an Exynos 7885 SoC.

Just like most database leaks from Geekbench, there isn’t much more that Geekbench exposes other than a few core specs. This means that we could only predict what the rest of the internals may look like.

This definitely fits into Samsung’s plans to try to penetrate the mid-range market after OnePlus, Xiaomi and Huawei have taken over the segment as one of Samsung’s rep told us in an interview. Given that the Samsung Galaxy A-series caters the upper-mid-range market, it would be a complete bummer of if Samsung does not manage to add a decent amount of internals, especially the memory and storage aspect of things.

Given that the Galaxy A8S is currently Samsung’s showcase for now and that Samsung doesn’t have a history of playing with double-digited A-series of devices, the Galaxy A40 may very well be a mid-range device that would sit under the Galaxy A8S.

For now, we can’t be budged by these launches. We have our eyes set for the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup of devices as Samsung had recently confirmed that they would be unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S10 and its family of devices at the upcoming UNPACKED event on February the 20th.

Samsung Galaxy M20 Leaked – Hosts A Massive 5000 mAh Battery, A Teardrop Notch & More

0

This year is expected to be the year for Samsung to rise once again and take the smartphone world by storm. The manufacturer is actively working on the upcoming Galaxy S10 to be released next month, there’s a lot resting on the device’s success. However, Samsung doesn’t just stop there and continues to wow the smartphone audience through other means. With growing competition in the mid-range smartphone markets thanks to Chinese manufacturers, Samsung has come up with their own solution like they always do.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 leaked by a credible cracker revealed the internals and the exterior of the smartphone. It seems that Samsung finally went for a teardrop notch in one of their devices. Samsung throughout 2018 neglected the trends and went on with the mainstream design nevertheless even kept the headphone jack when every major brand did. The Samsung M20, however, is an exception. The M20 for the first time ever in a Samsung smartphone hosts a teardrop notch which is unexpected, to say the least. With Samsung perfecting punch hole design displays, having a notch seems to be out of the blue. At the back, We have dual rear-facing cameras with all the fun features worth fiddling around and a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone uses USB-C as means of charging and data transfer while retaining the very Samsungish notch.

One of the neat features of the device is the fact that it houses a monstrous 5000 mAh battery paired with an Exynos 7885 processor. Considering how the Exynos 7885 is built to perform with very little resources and with a substantial efficiency, the M20 will most certainly provide over 2 days of battery life. The release of the M20 does question the existence of the Galaxy Alpha devices though. Samsung talked about how their plan was to give the Alpha series a breath of fresh air and their own identity but with a very minute difference in performance and pricing could prove to be fatal. However, if Samsung plays its cards in order just like Xiaomi and takes both the devices to please different audiences then they may succeed.

OnePlus 7 Renders Look Incredible With The Mi MiX 3 Sliding Mechanism

0

OnePlus 7 renders have just emerged on the internet following the alleged leak of the OnePlus 7 earlier this month. Ben Geskin, a well-known tipster and renderer has just re-created the OnePlus 7 based on the recent OnePlus 7 leak suggesting what the OnePlus 7 may look like at launch.

According to the leak and the re-created render, it seems like OnePlus could be opting-in for a sliding mechanism this time around to get rid of the notch. Following the introduction of the OnePlus 6T‘s waterdrop notch, a huge improvement over the large notch found on the OnePlus 6, OnePlus seems to have been inspired by Xiaomi’s newly-introduced design and could be featuring a mechanical sliding mechanism on their upcoming OnePlus 7.

Based on the renders and the leak, we have to agree that the OnePlus 7 in the render looks absolutely gorgeous. There’s no other way to put it. Featuring symmetrical curves above and below the device, it seems like OnePlus could have one of the best-looking devices this year if this leak has any weight to it.

As discussed with the Xiaomi Mi MiX 3 launch, a mechanical slider is always going to be better than a motorized one when it comes to longevity and reliability. Since moving parts are quite a concern for many, especially for a personal device like a cell phone, the mechanical slider could be a great introduction for those who want to be sure that they’re device lasts for more than a while.

What’s a concern us right now is the pricing for the OnePlus 7. Since OnePlus typically releases a device a year with the exception of a few RAM/storage variations, OnePlus could potentially be able to either ruin or keep their reputation as it is for now given the number of ambitions they’re going for by playing around with the pricing. Ever since the OnePlus One, OnePlus has consistently been increasing the prices of their devices and it seems like, given the number of new additions, OnePlus could potentially increase the price of the OnePlus 7 yet again this year.

Given how fierce the competition has become, all OnePlus is relying on this far has been on its software experience as well as their now so-called “decent-pricing” now that Samsung and Apple have hit the $999 price tag. Let’s hope that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Lite, Poco F2 and Xiaomi Mi 9 change that.

Samsung Galaxy S10+ Has A 15% Larger Battery & Is 9% Thinner

0

It seems like leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus are about to get a whole lot more detailed following the official announcement of Samsung’s Unpacked event.  Leaks from Ice Universe are continuing to pour in and it seems like Samsung has made some major strides this year to make the Samsung Galaxy S10 family of devices more appealing than ever before. According to a leak tweeted by the credible tipster, it seems like Samsung is about to play the “thin” game all over again with the tipster tipping that the Galaxy S10 Plus would come with a 9% thinner body as well as a 15% larger battery compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 Plus.

The tipster did release specifics regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Specifics tweeted by the tipster suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus would feature a 7.8mm body as well as a larger 4000mAh battery under its glass shell. This means that not only would the S10 Plus be thinner than the S9 Plus, but it seems like the battery department is about to get a major upgrade as well for those who craved for it the most.

A lot of the thickness reduction could suggest that Samsung would be going to a much larger battery this time around, similar to what Apple does with their phones, which in turn, allows them to cover the battery over a larger surface area while keeping the phone thin, nice, and neat.

While Huawei has hit the 4200mAh mark with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, it would be respectable Samsung catching up with the rest of the pack as battery sizes have become the trend manufacturers have begun giving attention to.

With the event underway, we’re expecting a whole lot more leaks to come in the upcoming days, especially considering that there’s more than a month left before Samsung’s Unpacked event begins.

To read up our coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and its family of devices, head here.

Xiaomi Mi A3 Leaked Renders Show A Punch Hole Design, Triple Rear Cameras & Much More

0

Xiaomi has proven to be on a spree of spelling trouble for its competitors throughout the last two years and this year seems no different. The manufacturer plans on stepping up this year with a new array of smartphones this year. The brand recently revealed the separation of the Redmi brand followed by the release of the Redmi Note 7. Last year Xiaomi took initiative and expressed the desire to expand internationally offering its services to a wider spectrum of users. With 5G technology at disposal, the race to release the first mainstream device to harness this technology goes on as Xiaomi goes on head to head with tech giants like Samsung and Huawei.

One of the latest leaks revealed by folks over at igeekphone show the renders of what seems to be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi A3 to inspire their latest arsenal of mid-range devices for 2019 with updates specifications and technology. Now, the renders reveal that Xiaomi will in fact house a punch hole design display in the next Mi A device. It is more than obvious now that the exposure has shifted very swiftly from the well-known notch to a punch hole design. With most of the major manufacturers on board with the design, Xiaomi certainly doesn’t hesitate to experiment. It is their experimenting which gives Mi devices their unique standpoint in the international markets and produces such strong affinity for the brand.

Furthermore, the renders reveal surprisingly minimalistic bezels which for a non-flagship device even by Mi standards is impressive. Looking at the display we may expect an under display fingerprint sensor to maintain a seamless exterior of the device. Talking about the exterior, we stumble upon the triple rear-facing camera setup where the sensors are aligned vertically. Assuming that the triple camera setup will completely harness all the fine features in every multi-sensor device, it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against last year’s flagship phones. The SoC of the device is certainly going to be the Snapdragon 6xx series since the A series has been loyal to the 6xx series since its start plus Xiaomi wouldn’t want to turn its devices against one another. According to the source, the Mi A3 is expected to harness the power of the Snapdragon 675 paired with 4000 mAh battery and 4/6/8 GB RAM options.

Looking at the horsepower on the Mi A3 it is safe to say that the device seems to be on par with Xiaomi’s formula to take the western markets by storm and we expect the phone to perform well given its pricing and all the hurdles it manages to conquer. Do note that the above information relies on the given source and the actual device may differ.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Revealed -Starts At $150, 48MP, Snapdragon 660 & More

0

Redmi was one of the most notable ranges of devices for they targetted a wider range of audience with their insanely affordable pricing with very little trade-offs. The branch was recently revealed to be separated from Xiaomi to better focus on sales and the brand itself. The newest addition to the Redmi franchise is here and the approach seems different to what the previous devices had.

Xiaomi’s New Redmi Note 7 Is A Beast- Here’s The Internals

The camera paired with Samsung’s Tetra Cell technology manages to pull off some serious imagery with improved light sensitivity which drastically improves low light performance. Besides that the AI thanks to the 660 chip is good enough to actually squeeze out results worthwhile.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Set To Be Revealed On February The 20th

0

Samsung has finally unveiled the first teasers regarding their upcoming flagship… beginning with the announcement of their “UNPACKED” event in San Francisco. The long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S10 and its family of devices would be officially revealed at the event sketching the future of Samsung’s innovations and strides along the way.

Following all the leaks, rumors and renders, tech enthusiasts have a pretty good idea of what the Samsung Galaxy S10 may look like and what Samsung’s of S10 consists of. So far leaks have suggested that Samsung could be launching the Samsung Galaxy S10 in three variants, while some rumors suggested that the variant count to be as high as four. However, pretty much every leak has suggested and has mentioned the three core variants of the Samsung Galaxy S10, that is, the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Lite, and the S10 Plus… with the fourth variant being touted as the highest-end variant of the four emphasizing its capabilities on 5G.

With the end pretty much confirmed at this point, we couldn’t wait to see more leaks coming in within the next thirty to forty days that we have here. And as usual, we wouldn’t be surprised this time around if someone at Samsung prematurely releases a TVC of the Galaxy S10 via their official channels like what happened to the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 last year.

Now that Samsung has begun the race, with a probable release of the device in the following month (March), there’s a good chance that our predictions regarding the early release of the Xiaomi Mi 9 could become true now that OnePlus would follow suit.

Renders For Nokia’s 8.1 Leak Out Revealing A Punch-hole Design

0

Ever since HMD Global took hold of Nokia and rebooted the franchise, the smartphones resulted are more than just decent. One of the smarter moves was to enlist the devices in Google’s Android One program which would allow the devices to be backed up regarding software for at least 2 years. The Nokia devices were one of the very first to join the program and it proved to be a huge success since we know how much of a pain getting fast Android updates are. Apart from that, Nokia phones offered a variety of categories ranging from budget to mid-range and flagship category.

New renders from Nokia’s upcoming smartphone, dubbed to be the Nokia 8.1 have surfaced courtesy of folks over at 91Mobiles. The render images and the 360-degree view of the device shows a very smooth and geometrically perfect device. One of the most notable features of the device is the adoption of punch-hole camera design. As of recent leaks, it seems that most of the major smartphone kingpins have embraced the concept meaning that the ugly notch will not be required anymore. Moreover, since the device is to launch with flagship grade hardware, we may most certainly expect a Snapdragon 855 SoC with possible 5G capabilities. The renders also conclude that the device will be slightly thicker than average at a thickness of 9.5mm and will, in fact, have a 3.5mm headphone jack with a USB-C connector.

As we move towards the camera’s of the smartphone, at the back we have dual ZEISS labelled sensors with a dual-toned flash. The dimensions of the device are 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9(mm). With the international markets being invaded by Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Oneplus it certainly is a treat to watch one of the most respected tech giants regain momentum and bring quality technology to the average consumer base.

AMD Radeon 7 Gaming GPU Revealed – Set To Compete Directly With Nvidia’s RTX 2080

0

As CES 2019 is underway, AMD has released their bomb for 2019 at their Keynote yesterday where they revealed their new AMD Radeon 7 gaming GPU for the masses. The newly announced GPU is set to give Nvidia some stiff competition after years of dwindling around.

At the keynote floor, AMD’s Lisa Su showed off some major benchmarks on the showfloor along with a number of features the AMD Radeon 7 is about to bring to the market. AMD’s new Radeon 7 GPU has become the first GPU to be powered by AMD’s 7nm process and is said to be up to 62% faster than AMD’s Vega 64 GPU on OpenCL benchmarks.

Regarding the internals, with the AMD Radeon 7, you’re looking at 16GB HDM2 memory, 60 Compute Units bundled with 3840 stream processors running at up to 1.8GHz along with 1TB/s worth of memory bandwith over a 4096-bit memory bus.

Several other benchmarks were also shown off at the keynote giving us a good idea how the GPU may perform in real life. AMD made sure to include Nvidia’s RTX 2080 into the benchmarks comparison as well, albeit the three games they’ve shown off. AMD’s Lisa Su then said that AMD has worked so hard and has managed to keep up with the competition in both, DX11 and DX12 titles across the board.

AMD has shipped a number of review samples to a number of media outlets. If there’s anything that would tell us more about AMD’s upcoming benchmarks, it’s the reviews that would be making their way on the internet once the NDA embargo has been lifted.

The AMD Radeon 7 would be available globally on February the 7th 2019 for $699. For a limited time after its launch, AMD is throwing in DMC5, Resident Evil 2, and The Division 2 to be bundled with the GPU. While the price is close to Nvidia’s offerings, what should be noted is that the price credit could have been accredited to the high-cost of the HBM2 modules found on the new GPU.

Xiaomi Announces The Mi Power Bank 3 Pro While Celebrating Over 100 million Mi Power Bank Sales

0

When the brand Xiaomi is brought to light many would start to think of smartphones and how Xiaomi is basically the underdog in the modern smartphone race but little know that Xiaomi makes a variety of accessories both generally and exclusive to their lineup. Power banks are undoubtedly one of the most used and accepted accessories when it comes down to usage and productivity. With a simple goal of recharging your devices on the go, a power bank simply makes sense. As technological improvements occur, battery technology does as well and it is exactly what one may think of.

Xiaomi announced the Mi Power Bank 3 Pro with a 20,000mAh capacity, USB-A and USB-C ports. The power bank comes with three ports as opposed to only two on the previous generation. There are two USB-A ports and a single USB-C port. The USB-C port is rated to handle around 45W of power input and output so you’ll never have to waste any time charging your devices however the USB-A ports max out at 18W. It can charge a MacBook, tablet, handheld console and even a MateBook by Huawei hassle free.

The device can charge multiple devices at once, with the power output limited to 15W when both the USB-A ports are in use. Xiaomi has also clarified that the power bank will allow power to pass through even when it is plugged in to be charged. This means that users will be able to charge their devices even when the power bank itself is being charged. As far as charging times are concerned, Xiaomi claims to have cut the recharge time in half from 11 hours to only 4.5 hours thanks to the 45W fast charger. The body of the device is made from common plastic with a smooth ceramic finish and a Mi logo up front.

A New Xiaomi Blackshark Device Surfaces On Geekbench – Codenamed “Skywalker”

0

Gaming smartphones have come a long way thanks to the drastic improvement in smartphone hardware. Handheld gaming was a concept persuaded by many manufacturers a decade ago. Sony released the PSP while Nintendo was doing well with the GameBoy but it is clear that smartphones are to carry on this trend towards 2019 and so on. In 2018 a variety of gaming smartphones were released by Asus, Razer and Xiaomi. As 2019 comes, so comes a new SoC and a new opportunity for anyone wanting to get their hands on the chip. The Snapdragon 855 not only provides better CPU performance but a well-respected increment in the GPU department as well.

Xiaomi seems to be on a spree to be working on multiple devices. First the separation of the Redmi brand and the expected release of a new Redmi device tomorrow then the surfacing of an unexpected Snapdragon 855 device codenamed “Cepheus” and now we’ve got the Geekbench results of the next BlackShark device. The result popped up on the Geekbench results browser by a device named “Blackshark Skywalker”. We’re looking at a single core score of 3494 with a multicore score of 11149 paired with 8GB of RAM and Android Pie. Looking at the numbers here it is safe to say that the device will be extremely powerful, to say the least. The scores are almost twice as good as the Kirin 980 on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro which was said to have a similar architecture as the 855. The ARM implementer 81 architecture 8 variant 13 part 2052 revision 14 is the evidence that the phone will, in fact, be housing a Snapdragon 855 hence the technological improvements are definitely to look out for.

With CES 2019 ongoing we could expect Xiaomi to showcase something out of the blue since the timing here is so crucial. The race for the first full-fledged 5G goes on as Samsung tries its best to be the first ever to do so and Xiaomi lingering close behind. With video games progressing at a rapid pace for smartphones the market for gaming smartphones is yet to mature but we can see where it places itself and how an audience is built up.

Mysterious Xiaomi Devices Codenamed ‘Cepheus’ Featuring A Snapdragon 855 Emerges On Geekbench

0

If you would tell us that Xiaomi is done with their launches, you would terribly be wrong. However, if you were to tell us that there is might be a completely new device coming from Xiaomi featuring flagship internals may be coming soon, that’s when we would get worried. Apparently, it seems like that’s the case as a mysterious device from Xiaomi featuring a Snapdragon 855 has just emerged on Geekbench.

A new device from Xiaomi could be on the horizon as CES 2019 moves forward. This mysterious device, dubbed as the Xiaomi Cepheus, seems to be an interesting device based on the leak itself. While we have no interest in the device itself, the leak itself raises a ton of questions regarding Xiaomi’s roadmap for their releases, especially after parting with Redmi as their sub-brand.

According to the to details offered by Geekbench, it seems like this device would most likely feature Qualcomm’s newly-introduced, Snapdragon 855 SoC entailing ARM implementer 81 architecture 8 variant 13 part 2052 revision 14 as its identifier two tests obtained via Geekbench. Additional information that we could derive for the includes its scores and the fact that the particular model that has leaked on Geekbench features 6GB of RAM.

Regarding scores obtained via Geekbench, we’re looking at 3453 and 10771 as our single-core and multi-core score which is considerably higher than any Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered device.

Regarding the feature set, there’s nothing else we were able to derive from the leaks obtained via Geekbench. Although unlikely, Xiaomi could be trying to cater a very specific community of users despite the existence of the Redmi and Poco brand, unless this is a successor to current-gen devices. Let’s hope that the latter is true.

Fortnite Has A “Top Secret” Event & It Seems To Be Related To The Dungeon

Epic Games could be sneaking in yet another major live event in Fortnite. Following the latest update, Fortnite Content Update 7.10 #3, leaks have emerged suggesting the start of a major event beginning today thanks a datamine caught by FNBRLeaks on Twitter.

Something Major Could Happen In Fortnite Over The Next Week Or Two

On Twitter, FNBRLeaks has just released a screenshot of what allegedly seems to be dubbed as the “Top Secret”. Epic has done a number events in the past and there’s a good chance that Epic could be planning to do yet another live event by next week.

The screenshot showcased by the leaker suggests that this “Top Secret” event has begun today and would run until January the 15th. next week. Several hints and leaks have suggested that Epic could be unfolding some major turn of events over the next few weeks and with this now being caught thanks to a pair of peeled eyes, it seems like everything is lining up.

Given that it suggests that the event has begun today while nothing changed as of yet simply tells us that the week-long event could be the resultant of the amount of time the ice is taking to melt.

Last month, YouTuber, MrTop5 managed to unveil some major information regarding the series of events that are about to unfold. With the help of a glitch, MrTop5 managed to get into a sealed secret lair that wasn’t supposed to be revealed until later. As soon as MrTop5 got in, there were a number of spectacles to behold including an area what seems to be a jail cell as well as a series of eggs that seem to be oddly connected to The Visitor from the Season 4 event found in a separate room of the secret lair.

Apparently, the leaked secret lair wouldn’t be small. However, since he wasn’t supposed to be there, is he did go out of bounds, it would automatically kick him out of the lair forcing him to repeat the whole process to get in again.

The second reason why this seems to be linked to a “Dungeon” is that, apparently, one of the developers at Fortnite, Donald Mustard has just changed his location to “The Dungeon” as soon as servers came back up featuring the new Fortnite Content Update 7.10 #3 patch.

There seems to be a ton of rumors backing the whole ordeal and it seems like Epic Games is planning to make such events occur much more frequently. Whatever this entails seems to be a huge deal and we couldn’t wait to see what happens by the end of this month.

Fortnite Content Update 7.10 #3 – Adds New Suppressed Sniper Rifle & Massive Balance Changes

Epic Games have just released their third patch entailing the 7.10 tag. As detailed in yesterday’s report, Epic has finally delivered on the promises and teases. Now that we finally have some concrete details regarding the nerfs they had promised, we would be able to see some decent changes coming to Fortnite as we head further into Fortnite Season 7.

The Long-Awaited Suppressed Sniper Rifle Has Been Added

One of the biggest additions making its way to Fortnite this week has to be the introduction of the suppressed sniper rifle. After teasing players for the week following a number of concrete data mined leaks, Epic Games has finally added the new Sniper Rifle to the game for some sneaky peaky silent sniping.

For those who want the metrics for the newly-introduced rifle, the Suppressed Sniper Rifle delivers either 100 or 105 damage with its Epic and Legendary variants, respectively, and could be found in treasure chests, floor loot, Vending Machines, and Supply Drops.

Stromwing X-4 Plane Gets Nerfed

Following the nerfs Epic introduced with the first content update, Epic made a few nerfs to the Stormwing X-4 Plane, the plane that was introduced with Fortnite Season 7. According to the patch notes, the plane would be getting a number of nerfs to its damage reduction, its machine gun spray, as well as nerfs applied to its chance of appearing in-game from 100% to 80%.

Epic Finally Puts An End To The Boom Box Rage

Epic has finally applied some nerfs to the boom box after it went ravaging across the battle island. With the introduction of the Boom Box in the second update, players rage across a number of forums and the Fortnite subreddit urging the folks over at Epic Games to have some mercy.

With this update, Epic has finally delivered on that and has made some significant nerfs to the Boom Box that includes the reduction of its drop rate, reducing its health from 600 to 400, and reducing its rampage music from 25 seconds to 18 seconds.

Regarding the damage it inflicts and the damage radius, Epic has kept those two details untouched, at least with this update.

Epic Vaults The Six Shooter & The Burst Rifle (sort of)… And Then Re-Introduces The Dual Pistols

Here's Everything New in Fortnite Patch v6.20 - Fortnitemares Event Goes Live Tomorrow

Epic has finally pulled back the Six Shooter as well as the Burst Rifle from the game. However the FAMAS variants of the rifle, that is, the Legendary and Epic variants still remain in the game as we head forward into the Season as a viable option.

Following these vaults, Epic has finally added a decently balanced pistol to the game, the Dual Pistols. With the latest update in effect, you should now be able to experience the dualies yet again.

For those who want an even deeper dive into the update, here are the patch notes for Fortnite’s Content Update 7.10 #3 obtained from Epic Games blog.
