Xiaomi Mi 9 To Debut Next Week Alongside Samsung’s Galaxy S10

0

If February couldn’t get better, it seems like Xiaomi has all of a sudden came out of the bush announcing their reveal date for their upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone. After months of minimal renders and rumors, Xiaomi’s Mi 9 has hit the spotlight multiple times today along with an official keynote date scheduled for next week.

This goes hand in hand with what had had speculated months earlier here. However, seeing them debut the Mi 9 boldly alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 seems to be a bold move to make despite the regional differences.

Xiaomi has announced that they would be revealing the Xiaomi Mi 9 on February the 20th in China. Several leaks today have pretty much cemented what the Xiaomi Mi 9 may look like.

Xiaomi had done an incredible job at keeping the Mi 9 a secret and it seems like the minimal facelift that leaks are suggesting could be the reason for why Xiaomi may not have been as enthusiastic to allow leaks for the device to slip through.

According to several leaks over the past 24 hours, the Xiaomi Mi 9 seems to be releasing in a number of colors. In addition to that, it has been pretty much confirmed, by the leaks, as well the teaser above, that the Xiaomi Mi 9 would pack a set of triple cameras on the rear of the device.

However, since the back is only part of the device, leaks have also made sure that we get a good glimpse of what the front of the Mi 9 looks like as well.

According to the images that have made their way onto the internet of the Mi 9, it seems like Xiaomi hasn’t given the Mi 9 much of a facelift upfront as well. Unlike the concept renders we had seen of the Mi 9 previously. The Mi 9 is expected to feature an Essential Phone-like notch upfront along with a full-view display to become the star of the show with Xiaomi’s Mi 9 release.

On the inside, we’re expecting to see Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM, 256GB of internal storage, as well as a decent set of camera sensors to accommodate Xiaomi enthusiasts for 2019.

However, given that these are just mere leaks, what would make the Mi 9 special has to be the feature set Xiaomi could be hiding with themselves for the keynote. For now, that’s all the information that has been leaked. However, given how minimal the Mi 9 looks, it’d better come with some bells and whistles now that they’re releasing it alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10, albeit, in China.

Detailed specifications regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup have emerged. The newly released document not only reveals the expected internals of the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup but leaves no trail behind regarding the feature set Samsung is about to introduce to the table.

The document published by GSMArena features a ton of resemblance to a ton of the previous leaks and rumors. However, with this leak, it seems like the details regarding the upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup have become clearer than ever.

The above table shows what the table from GSMArena has revealed. However, that isn’t all that the leak details. In fact, it also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S10 would come with an additional 10 scene optimizers as well as 2x longer slo-mo recordings as a standard on all of the Galaxy S10’s family of devices.

In addition to that, some of the more notable upgrades that we noted from the sheet is 4K selfie video support, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 as well as support to share wireless charging between other devices, similar to what we saw with Huawei’s Mate 20 lineup.

What’s odd about the sheet of details is the mention of a 1080p display for the Samsung Galaxy S10SE as well as the absence of a second selfie camera upfront. In addition to that, the sheet also mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus would come with the new Gorilla Glass 6.

A lot of the details, such as the camera, battery capacity as well as the display sizes seem to be fairly in line with what we have been reporting over the past few weeks, including our mere predictions regarding the display resolutions we speculated the Galaxy S10 would come with this year.

With these details now out, it seems like Samsung isn’t happy about it at all as Ice Universe recently revealed that Samsung is on the hunt for a tipper who has been leaking Galaxy S10 this extensively.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Leakster May Be In Trouble

0

It seems like an employee from Samsung may be in deep trouble. The story comes from Ice Universe, a trusty leakster who reports some of the most accurate smartphone leaks on the internet.

According to Ice Universe, Samsung is apparently going after one of their employees for potentially leaking “too much” details regarding Samsung’s upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup of devices.

Leakage of all functions of the phone is much more serious than appearance and configuration leaks. Samsung will thoroughly investigate the leaker and let him pay the price said Ice Universe.

Strongly condemn the S10 detailed specifications leaker, leaking is not equal to open secrets, leaks should be limited, and everything is open, this is a serious moral problem or even illegal, he added.

Ice Universe via Twitter

For the past year or two, leaks from Samsung’s department have been very accurate. The Samsung Galaxy S8 lineup, the Galaxy Note 8 lineup, the Galaxy S9 lineup, and Galaxy Note 9 lineup have had some of the most comprehensive leaks in Samsung’s history months before they were officially launched. All of these devices, including some of Samsung’s budget devices have had all their hype die away as keynotes closed in. Not only did these leaksters leak everything about Samsung’s devices, but they also reported high-level developments occurring in the company.

Add that to the number of pre-maturely released teasers that made their way onto the internet and Samsung pretty much had nothing to awe the crowd with. And if there isn’t anything to keep the audience hyped about, it’s pretty hard for a brand like Samsung to make a meaningful impact when the device finally debuts.

Heck, leaks have already suggested a few details regarding Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10, a device that’s slated to release as far as six months from now.

As of now, no one has been caught so far. We would bet that Samsung isn’t going to go light on these folks once they do get caught. Afterall, a lot of these leaks are motivated with financial means which is part of the reason why smartphone leaks have become so prevalent over the past half-decade or so.

Apple’s 2019 iPhones To Ship With The Same 5W Charge Brick, Leaks Suggest

0

Ever since the very first iPhone, Apple has taken more than a few bold moves over the years for its future smart devices. The manufacturer was one of the very first to axe off the headphone jack and implement a notched design in its smartphone. Apple users, however, have grown accustomed to all this change mostly due to the amazing services provided by the company like iTunes, iCloud and various other apps.

Last year was more than eventful for the manufacturer with the release of a new iPad Pro, MacBook Air and most importantly the annual updated iPhones. Apart from all the innovation integrated into the new iPhones, one thing of notice was the fact that Apple no longer provided a headphone dongle in the box. The fact that the previous generation of iPhones did actually include the dongle makes users wonder how a thousand dollar smartphone cuts down its expenditure.

Fans were disappointed, to say the least, but the story does not end here. According to a report by Benjamin Mayo, a credible tipster, the upcoming iPhone will most certainly ship with the standard 5W slow charger. This means that the new iPhone despite having fast charging support would only come with a slow charger which could then be replaced later on by purchasing a fast charger. Xiaomi, on the other hand, shipped the Mi Mix 3 with a fast charger and a wireless charger which is definitely worth noting for folks over at Apple.

Over the years the iPhone has gained a lot of traction in the premium smartphone market space thanks to amazing software support and the irresistible Apple ecosystem. Recent moves by the brand have been doubtful, to say the least. With Chinese manufacturers expanding internationally the premium market becomes more and more crowded. Apple sales have not been as good as they should have been but to finally make a comeback they would have to bring something new to the table unparalled to what the Android devices have to offer.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Early Pre-Order Page Surfaces On Samsung Phillipines Website

0

The Galaxy S10 is right around the corner with only a few days remain for Samsung to finally unveil its 10th generation of flagship devices. Apart from a plethora of leaks we’ve gathered throughout 2018 and still counting, it is safe to say that the S10 will surely be influential. The smartphone is surely going to break a bunch of barriers with having a notch-less display while maintaining a 90%+ screen to body ratio, not to mention all the different variants along with their pricing.

Samsung has clearly gone all out for the upcoming S10 and they certainly want to make everything perfect for the 10-year anniversary. With time ticking down the clock an early pre-order page for the upcoming Galaxy S10 surfaces on Samsung Philippines website. The page clearly states that the S10 will be iconic, to say the least. The website page allows users to subscribe to their early pre-order access list with chances of winning freebies worth up to P30,700 roughly equaling to about $590. The offer stays valid for a limited time and will end on Febuary 17, 2019.

It seems crystal clear for enthusiasts that something rather huge is coming towards them and it won’t just be the leaks. With almost every detail about the Galaxy, S10 gathered around way before the actual launch, we are certain that Samsung would bring in something new and unexpected to the table which would set the standard for the year. With substantial improvements in practically every section, the S10 is bound to succeed and with Samsung actually releasing a budget “Lite” variant things will surely be interesting.

LG G8 ThinQ Won’t Be Cheap, Suggests Fishy Leak

0

New leaks regarding LG’s upcoming flagship, the LG G8 ThinQ have begun to emerge. And as we move forward, it seems like the LG G8 ThinQ may not be as cheap as many had anticipated.

According to a sketchy leak, it seems like LG is planning to hike up its prices for 2019. The latest leak comes from an anonymous user on reddit who has spotted the LG G8 ThinQ in their systems. The image posted by the user suggests that the LG G8 ThinQ would most probably retail for around $1199 CAD (US $930).

LG typically releases their G-series flagships around the $750 mark but it seems like the price hike this year could simply be LG hiking its prices due to how its peers have shifted its trends. Both, Samsung and Apple has been painting a new direction for the smartphone market. Both Samsung and Apple have made their absurd price tags a norm for the average consumer.

Reports have suggested that the entry-level variant of the S10, the Samsung Galaxy S10E, would be retailing for around the $799. And with LG’s underwhelming brand image continuing to dwindle, the LG G8 ThinQ better put something special on the table before its too late.

There isn’t a whole lot that has been leaked of the LG G8 ThinQ. However, given how well LG has kept itself in the game after a major of fans shifted for Samsung and Apple’s offerings, this could be a great time for LG to make a comeback. With more details regarding the LG G8 ThinQ yet to come, it would be interesting to see how the LG G8 ThinQ turns out to be when it releases in the upcoming months.

ASRock Introduces Phantom Gaming X Radeon VII GPU, First GPU Based On A 7nm Architecture

0

AMD has just launched the ASRock labelled Radeon VII gaming GPU. The manufacturer has always been keen on bringing innovation to all the little things that matter. Refining and redefining existing technology are what they’ve done best and the latest Radeon VII lives up to the hype. Bringing 7nm architecture to GPUs for the first time allows room for better efficiency, better thermals and most importantly better overall performance.

The Radeon VII comes with all sorts of goodies like the 16GB 4096-bit HBM2 memory including complete support for DirectX 12, Vulcan and Open GL 4.5. The Phantom Gaming X Radeon VII based on the latest 7nm Vega technology offers a substantial overall improvement over the previous Radeon RX GPUs. The GPUs achieves a base/boost frequency of 1400/1750 MHz while housing twice the video memory than previous Radeon cards not to mention the 1TB/s maximum memory bandwidth that is 2.1 times of the previous generation.

The manufacturer claims that the new Phantom Gaming X Radeon VII performs 29% better than any of the previous RX cards in video games while having a 35% increased overall efficiency when it comes to daily tasks. The Radeon VII offers quality performance in all sorts of tasks like gaming, VR and 3D rendering while keeping up the efficiency thanks to the new 7nm architecture.

The graphics card comes loaded with all the AMD exclusive features like Freesync 2 HDR technology which completely supports 8K resolution for creators to explore more and more. It also has three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0b ports to support up to four displays for multi-monitor output.

The triple fan setup allows the GPU to stay cool despite a heavy workload and keeps the ASRock mean look. The GPU is available on sale here and has a limited edition bundle with The Division 2, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 adding up over $180 of value. Overall the latest addition to AMD’s fleet of Vega cards seems to hit all the high notes and is definitely a valid choice for enthusiasts.

Samsung Galaxy M30 Leaked – Features Exynos 7904, 3x Rear Cameras & More…

0

Samsung’s next card, the Galaxy M30, has just emerged in a series of alleged leaks. With Samsung’s Galaxy M10 and M20 showcasing a change of direction from Samsung.

According to the leaks coming from the folks over at PriceKart.com the Samsung Galaxy M30 would carry the same design cues from the M20 featuring a full-view display along with an Infinity-V notch. Where the M30 would differ itself from the M20 is in its spec sheet.

The Samsung Galaxy M30 is said to pack a 6.38-inch Full HD AMOLED display, an Exynos 7904, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Additional details of the device include a triple-camera setup consisting of a 13MP + 5MP + 5MP array along with a 16MP selfie camera upfront. The device is also said to pack a large 5000mAh battery, similar to what we’ve seen from Asus’s Zenfone Max Pro M2 recently.

Pricing for the devices weren’t revealed. However, we could only speculate what price Samsung may set for the Galaxy M30, and by the looks of it, it seems like the Galaxy M30 may retail for around $199 given that the similarly equipped M20 retails for about INR 10,999 ($150) in India.

if true, the Samsung Galaxy M30 could absolutely shake the Indian market given the internals Samsung is offering here. Not only does it offer a large battery, but those beefy internals should satisfy even the most beefiest of Xiaomi users in the budget segment. Given how well the Galaxy M30 looks, let’s hope that’s the case when Samsung officially announced it within the next few weeks.

Vivo V15 Pro Teased – Features A 35MP Pop-Up Camera & Mid-Range Internals

0

Vivo isn’t done. Soon after CES, the company has begun teasing its next device, the V15, and V15 Pro. Through Vivo’s official social media channels, Vivo has just teased and revealed the V15 and V15 Pro.

Based on the details Vivo has teased so far, the Vivo V15 Pro would pack a 32MP selfie camera along with an unknown set of dual cameras on its back. Additional details we were able to gather from the teaser include the fact that the devices would come in at least two colors, that is, blue and pink. However, similar to previous releases, Vivo is yet again playing around with its hues with the exception of gradients that run from light to dark hues.

While specs weren’t revealed, we’re pretty sure that the V15 Pro would pack mid-range specs. However, which SoC Vivo is planning to go with would be a sight to see given how much the mid-range market has expanded with the likes of the Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 660 and Mediatek’s Helio P70 around.

What may intrigue a few users is the fact that the Vivo V15 Pro would come with an under-display fingerprint sensor. A feature that made its mark on a few devices throughout 2018.

Based on details The Verge revealed, it seems like the V15 Pro could be released for the masses for around the $280-$420 mark with official social media channels teasing an official debut date dated for February the 20th. Cheesy eh? That’s the same date Samsung would be unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S10 family of devices with MWC coming in the upcoming few days.

Xiaomi Continues To Dominate The Indian Smartphone Market, Records 60% YOY Growth In 2018

0

It seems like India hasn’t had enough of their smartphone enthusiasm fulfilled. As we head deeper into 2019 and as the Indian population continues to move online, demand for smartphones are at their all-time high right now. Smartphone companies from China, namely, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei and others have been keeping the competition competitive and exciting for the past few years and seem to show no signs of slow-down anytime soon in the region.

India remained one of the bright spots in an otherwise declining global smartphone market in 2018. Smartphone shipments in the country were up by more than 12 million at 137 million, the best growth of any market in absolute volume terms. India now accounts more than 10% of the world’s smartphone market, up from 6% five years ago. It is one of six markets in the top 20 that posted positive full-year growth, with its performance outshone by Indonesia (17.1%), Russia (14.1%) and Italy (10.0%). Of these four markets, India is the only one that has seen consecutive growth for the past three years, noted Canalys

The report published by Canalys clearly shows how the trends in India continue to snowball. According to the report, it seems like Xiaomi is continuing to lead the shipment charts covering 29.9% of India’s smartphone market share.

Xiaomi’s 1st place ranking in the Indian was definitely what we had expected. After all, Xiaomi had surpassed its goal last year with two months to spare. On top of that, additions like the Poco F1 and the likes of the new Mi 8 lineup simply put Xiaomi in a strong place.

Redmi Note 7 Blue

Towards the end of the year, Xiaomi had branched out two brands that would act as separate entities under Xiaomi’s provision, Poco, and Redmi. And while Xiaomi is trying its best to keep the two garner their own shine, there definitely seems to be a whole lot of Xiaomi in them given how much Xiaomi promotes their two new branches compared to Huawei’s Honor sub-brand.

To put Xiaomi’s success into perspective, Xiaomi saw a monstrous 59.6% Y-O-Y growth from 2017 to 2018. Shipments landed in the 25.7 Million range in 2017 with 2018 shipment trailblazing their goal to 41 Million units in 2018, that too accounting for the Indian market alone.

Following Xiaomi’s reign, we get to see the likes of Samsung, Vivo, and Oppo making out the second, third and fourth place in the market. Samsung, Vivo, and Oppo recorded 20.4%, 14.3%, and 5.2% YOY growth during the same duration.

With Xiaomi dominating 2018 with such a monstrous margin, we would doubt that Xiaomi would be able to replicate the same success throughout 2019 in the Indian market. Doubts arise from the shifts that occurred in late 2018 with the introduction of Oppo’s highly-competition Realme brand and Samsung’s new Galaxy M20 series setting a tone to disrupt Xiaomi’s empire in the region.

Reports from Malaysian e-commerce websites had already reported the massive success Realme had garnered in Malaysia, at least from online sales, and it seems like the trend is very likely to continue if Xiaomi doesn’t put some juicy steaks on the table again.

By the looks of it, Xiaomi’s success for 2019 would hugely depend on their upcoming releases such as the Xiaomi Mi 9, Poco F2, Mi A3, Mi MiX 3 5G Edition, Mi MiX 4and Redmi Note 7. While that is a mouthful, Xiaomi’s timely releases do make a huge impact on how Xiaomi tilts the market with all the competition surrounding it.

Oppo F11 Pro Leaked – Yet Another Pop-Up Shooter

0

It seems Oppo is planning to release yet another device for the mid-range market. Dubbed as the Oppo F11 Pro, the Oppo F11 Pro would be the second device from Oppo to feature a pop-up camera following the Oppo Find X from last year.

According to the leak and details provided by 91mobiles, the unannounced gem from Oppo would be releasing the Oppo F11 Pro next month for around INR Rs. 25,000. Further details derived from the report include a full-view display lacking bezels throughout except for a chin at the bottom for antenna reception.

Regarding the camera setup on the Oppo F11 Pro, expect to see a 32MP shooter for in the pop-up camera as well as a 48MP main sensor on the rear of the device. Just like pretty much every marketing campaign, it seems like Oppo would be introducing some decent improvements for low-light shots as well as a few improvements for portrait shots.

Additional features the device is expected to come with include the likes of a physical fingerprint sensor, an earpiece embedded into the forehead of the device as well as the usual gradient design these Chinese OEMs are coming up with.

Regarding specs, the Oppo F11 Pro would be the usual mid-ranger, with the exception of a MediaTek SoC. As per the source, the Oppo F11 Pro would feature a MediaTek P70 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

While we didn’t get a hold of all of the details regarding the device yet, it seems to be a pretty respectable entry in the franchise. However, with the likes of the Pocophone F1 (review) and Asus Zenfone Pro M2, the competition wouldn’t go easy on the Oppo F11 Pro, that’s for sure.

Assassins Creed 3 Remastered To Be Released On March The 29th

Connor’s revolution is about to make a comeback as Ubisoft buckle up to launch Assassins Creed 3 remastered next month. Today, Ubisoft announced that the company would be releasing the remastered edition of the title next month on all three major platforms, that is, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 family of consoles.

As expected, Ubisoft would be making some additional changes and improvements to the textures of the game. Ubisoft noted that the remastered version of the title would be running on a new graphics engine, would pack higher-quality textures as well as support for 4K HDR gameplay to cope with the improvements introduced on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 family of consoles.

While the original storyline from the American Revolution would be retained, the game would include additional post-launch content as well, of which, players would be able to experience the hidden secret missions as well as the Tyranny of King Washington story arc.

With all of that being confirmed, it would be interesting to see how well Ubisoft has prepared these games for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X given that they both tout support for 4K HDR gameplay. Given that both of these consoles do have a lot in common, there’s also a good chance that we may see the PlayStation 4 Pro actually utilize its upscaling techniques to reach the 4K mark.

Assassins Creed 3 Remastered would launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March the 29th, 2019.  Ubisoft also confirmed that players who do own the Season Pass from Assassins Creed Odyssey would be able to get the remastered title for free.

Battlefield V Anti-Cheat Buffed – Would Perma-Ban Cheaters Instantly

Cheaters in online multiplayer games have been a problem since the early days of online PC gaming. As gaming has progressed further, so have cheaters and their developers. Following some strict moves to get rid of cheaters from companies like Valve, EA is joining to party in enforcing their anti-cheat solution in Battlefield V.

In a post detailed by the folks over at EA, it seems like DICE would be buffing their anti-cheat solution even further following the late release of Battlefield V. According to the folks over at DICE, they’ve put a number of hurdles and steps between cheaters to hurdle them as much as possible. Their latest blog post revealed the measures that they’re putting in place as well as detailing why they are leaving out a few more details regarding their anti-cheat buffs. Their post detailed the five following points, excluding a few points here to avoid cheat developers picking on weaknesses in the platform. Here are the five points EA has pledged to work on to make Battlefield V a cheat-free experience.

  • Working on better prevention, hardening the PC client against exploits.
  • Scaling up detection efforts.
  • Investigating supplementary deterrence methods which can work alongside banning accounts.
  • Investigating methods of improving the reporting flow, including easier reporting.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest cheat developments and reacting to them in a faster and leaner manner.

Now there’s a number of ways DICE is planning to catch these cheaters. Among which, DICE would be using a combination of in-game, server, information from external websites and more to identify if a user is cheating. This, in tandem with reports from players, would allow DICE to assess whether they should swing the ban hammer on the suspected cheater.

Players who would be caught in the act would be instantly banned regardless of their status and would be banned indefinitely. Similar to what we’ve seen from Counter-Strike’s Valve, EA is also implementing a zero-tolerance policy in order to keep cheaters away from the game. Players who do plan to cheat from now on would not be able to come back and enter Battlefield V’s servers unless they purchase another copy of the game with another account.

As expected, PC gamers led the charts when it comes to cheats which in turn, has prompted DICE to strengthen their PC clients for any exploits.

How this would turn out is yet to be seen. However, if it does get ugly, which is definitely seems to be heading given how weak these enforcements are looking compared to Valve’s bans, it would be interesting to see how EA shifts its plans towards cleaning their gaming altogether.

Xiaomi’s Dual Punch Hole Camera Smartphone Patent Explained

0

Last year was all about having the best screen to body ratios. Many smartphones ended up having interesting ideas on minimizing the bezels of the smartphone. Out of all, the notch was easily the most influential and gained popularity. With almost every smartphone manufacture adapting some derivative of the notch Samsung with a few others remained neutral to all the trends.

Samsung in late 2018 revealed the Galaxy A8s with an Infinity-O display which caught the attention of many. The smartphone had no notch but instead featured a punch hole style front camera. This design immediately became the next big trend with Huawei already on the bandwagon. With 2019 off to a start we expect more and more manufacturers to adopt this trend in some manner to achieve that sweet above 90% screen to body ratio.

As the race for having the most seamless smartphone continues, Xiaomi showed the most substantial growth with its Mi Mix smartphones finding unique ways to counter the infamous notch. As per a report by Lets Go Digital, Xiaomi has filed a petition for a smartphone to house dual punch hole cameras. The patent reveals that Xiaomi could, in fact, be working on a punch hole device. The Mi Mix 3 offered a slider mechanism to avoid the notch and hid all the sensors in the slider but met with its fair share of problems.

Firstly, the slider meant that the phone would be prone to above average wear and tear and would provide zero water resistance. Secondly, having a movable part in a smartphone raised questions on the phone’s structural integrity. Having a punch hole design could fix all the above issues at a cost of some screen real estate and we could expect Xiaomi to implement this technology in the upcoming Mi9 or the Mi Mix 4.

Google’s Pixel Lite Variants Receive Their Model Numbers, Code-named Sargo & Bonito

0

Google’s entry in the mainstream smartphone industry was a result of what an ideal Android smartphone should operate. The Nexus devices acted as a benchmark each year for manufacturers to take inspiration from. Ever since then the smartphone industry has grown at a steady pace and with it Google dumped the Nexus foundations and started off with a new Pixel branding. The Pixel phones refined the company’s plans for newer smartphones and showcased their ideas on a bigger scale. With the OS’s perfection pixel devices provided the best Android experience hands down. Despite having similar hardware to its competitors, Pixel smartphones crushed every other android phone when it came to actual performance.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Lite is an upcoming smartphone fit for budget oriented markets codenamed Sargo and Bonito respectively. The phone was first spotted a while ago with a complete hands-on video revealing the geometry and the hardware of the phone. Since then, new leaks have surfaced thanks to folks over at mysmartprice. The model numbers for both the devices have been leaked and it is expected to make an official appearance soon. The Pixel 3 lite equipped with a Snapdragon 670 SoC is named “G020B” while the XL variant with the Snapdragon 710 SoC is codenamed “G020F”.

Given how Chinese manufacturers basically cornered the Asian market space solely on the sales of their budget smartphones google would surely want a piece of it. It is clear that Google plans on making Pixel a more mainstream brand like Apple’s iPhone and build its own eco-system. With the Pixel Lite additions, Google is adding more devices to their fleet. Unfortunately, though the Pixel devices have a ton of competition and with the Lite devices having somewhat regular hardware as compared to the Chinese devices, everything relies on the software experience. Sure, the experience is one of its kind but will it be enough for users to actually choose the Pixel Lite versions over Chinese phones like the Poco F1(review)?

The Pixel Lite smartphones are soon to make an appearance in the Indian Markets with pricing upwards of $400. Google would certainly have to do more than just make a perfect smartphone to get the attention of Indian consumers and the task becomes more difficult thanks to the price.

Fortnite’s Battle Island Just Shook For A Brief Few Seconds – The Tale Isn’t Over Yet

It seems like the folks over at Epic Games aren’t done with Season 7’s fair share of massive events. Following the resurrection of the Ice King as well as the introduction of Marshmello, it seems like the string of events isn’t over.

Following yesterday’s content update dubbed at Content Update 7.30, players have just reported that the Battle Island has just experienced an earthquake. While players had experienced earthquakes in the past, a lot of them had to do with graphical glitches in the game. However, in a recent post by a user on Reddit, it seems like this earthquake could be the real deal.

Not only did the ground rumble but it had growled along with it suggesting, heck, even teasing some major changes coming to Fortnite over the course of the next month or two.

There’s a ton we could speculate. However, there are two possible outcomes of the earthquake. Either this has something to do with the dragon eggs in the dungeon or either this calls for a revamped island in Fortnite. Either way, it looks to be exciting.

Fortnite Content Update 7.30 – Brings Bottle Rockets, New Campfire & More

0

Epic has finally released yet another update for Fortnite. Following the incredible Marshmellow event last week, Epic has released a new update dubbed as Fortnite Content Update 7.30.

The newly introduced update brings quite a few additions to the table such as the aforementioned Bottle Rockets and Campfire. In addition to that, the newly introduced update not only adds some content but also fixes a few bugs that had been reported on Trello and Reddit over the past week or two. Here are some of the highlights followed by the patch notes.

The Boombox is gone

Epic has finally pulled the boombox from Fortnite. Following an uproar from players and taste that players had developed soon after Season 7 began, Epic has decided to finally vault the boombox from Fortnite. Following the new update, players would no longer be able to find the boombox again.

Epic Adds Bottle Rockets To Fortnite

With Fortnite Content Update 7.30, Epic has added a new explosive to Fortnite, dubbed as Bottle Rockets. The newly-introduced Bottle Rockets would allow players to release a barrage of fireworks-like rockets. Once set up, players don’t need to touch the Bottle Rockets again.

Regarding the balances Epic has put in place, Epic has revealed that the Bottle Rockets would drop in stacks of two with players being able to stack as many as six at a time. Stats include a barrage of 45 rockets over a time span of 9 seconds dealing 10 damage to players as well as 40 damage to structures.

Epic Adds Environmental Campfires

The next addition Epic has added to this update is the Environmental Campfire. The newly-introduced campfire behaves like the cozy campfire healing players surrounding it by 2 HP per second for 25 seconds.

The campfire would be interactive and would also feature visual cues for you to identify if it had been used or not.

Here’s the patch notes for content update 7.30 retrieved from Epic Games.

Over 900k CS: GO Steam Accounts VAC Banned This January

0

Counterstrike Global Offensive, the long lost jewel by Valve has become quite a centre of attraction for many. The title which was once known as Valve’s neglected child received quite a few major tweaks the past few months. From the new MP5-SD to the Panorama UI update and everything in between, CS: GO developers have been working actively in making the e-sports title more approachable. Valve wanted to make CS: GO so approachable by newcomers that they, in fact, made the title once worth $15 free to play. That, however, came with its fair share of hurdles most noticeably the advent of cheaters in the game.

Counterstrike is known for cheaters, Valve despite various attempts to provide a clean and entertaining environment failed miserably which led enthusiasts to explore unofficial servers. That being said, the issue caused by tonnes of cheaters trying to hack the game was only to increase once the game’s price was reduced to zero. This month’s VAC ban and game ban reports are revealed and the numbers seem to grow at an exponential rate. Over 900 thousand various steam accounts were VAC banned just this month and that is not to count the 700+ thousand game banned accounts. Despite all these efforts, “Non-Prime” matchmaking remains unplayable with upwards of 3 cheaters every game.

The Danger Zone update which brought Battle Royale to the title gave a breath of fresh air to the well-aged e-sports game but it is clear that Valve must overhaul their algorithms by modern standards just to match the newcomers in the e-sports scene. With Battle Royale titles like PUBG and Fortnite taking all the fame Valve would definitely want to step up their game and regain mainstream popularity once again.

Samsung Galaxy S10’s Triple Camera Setup Says “Hi” In A Leaked Image

0

Samsung is finally about to launch the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup of devices. With fans speculating Samsung’s moves ever since the Note 9 launched back in August 2018, leaks and renders have come a long way. After months of leaks, renders and concepts, Evan Blass, a trusted leakster has released an image of what seems to be the Samsung Galaxy S10 on Twitter.

So far, rumors have suggested that Samsung would be launching the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup in their dual or triple camera setups. With earlier renders suggesting the fact that the Galaxy S10E would feature a dual camera setup at its rear, the image released by Evan Blass has to be the Samsung Galaxy S10 or the Galaxy S10 Plus.

The image released by Evan Blass does offer some incredible details regarding Samsung’s upcoming flagship. Not only does it confirm the existence of the triple-camera setup, but it seems like the triple-camera setup could come at a cost many may not like, a bump. Based on the image above, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S10 would come with a camera bump at its rear.

Alongside that, it seems like the leaks that suggested the addition of white were true as well. Samsung had experimented with a white variant of the Galaxy Note 9 in Asia and that seems to be have been the stepping ground for this launch. It has been a while, that’s for sure and the device does seem to look incredible even though we don’t have the full image yet.

And unlike the typical curvy “Galaxy S” corners, it seems like Samsung is going for a more pointier approach for its corners this year, similar to what Samsung has been implementing on their Galaxy Note lineup of devices so far.

Whether the metal trim of the phone would be gold as shown in the image is yet to be seen. However, if Samsung does plan to groove up the Galaxy S10’s looks, gold seems to be a great color to go along with the white color scheme Samsung’s bringing back to the playing field.

Whether Samsung does manage to entice its user base is yet to be seen. While we’ve had a good run of rumors, leaks and renders so far, what feature set Samsung is planning to introduce with the Samsung Galaxy S10 would be a spectacle to keep our eyes peeled for. With a bit more than a week left to the Galaxy S10’s unveiling, fans and enthusiasts couldn’t wait to see what Samsung has in store with this year’s Galaxy S10.

Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ To Be 12% Thinner Than The S9+ While Housing A 4100 mAh Battery

0

Only a few weeks remain for Samsung to unveil the most anticipated smartphone of 2019. There have been countless leaks about the upcoming Galaxy S10 from the different variants to the internals and it seems there are more to come. The latest leaks courtesy of Ice Universe suggest that the Galaxy S10+ will, in fact, be thinner than the S9+ variant while housing a bigger larger and more efficient battery of 4100 mAh.

Although Samsung has had a rough history with exploding batteries in the past it is clear that the only way left is the way forward and that is exactly what they’ve done. Samsung smartphones are known to push innovation to the next level. The  Galaxy S9+ was 8.9mm and the new leaks suggest the thickness of the S10+ to be at 7.8mm. The smaller form factor of the S10+ could result in thermal issues but with the Snapdragon 855, we could expect a subtle improvement in the department. We’ve also learnt that the S10 would come with advanced cooling solutions with excellent battery optimizations.

Moreover, it is evident that Samsung is on a move with bringing innovation to the consumer. Recently the manufacturer introduced the 1 TB storage solutions for upcoming devices while we spotted the first ever launch trailer about the fictitious foldable smartphone by Samsung. The S10 itself will be one of the most polarizing smartphones of the year setting the standard for various manufacturers. The punch hole design itself has been adopted by quite a few brands and we expect Samsung to lead the race with the S10. With the smartphone, Samsung has kept the aesthetics alive while giving the phone a futuristic look and a complete hardware makeover. The previous iteration of S devices was basically a yearly refreshment but with the 10-year anniversary, Samsung plans on making an entry with a huge bang.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lineup Pricing, Variants & Colors Leaked

0

As February begins, Ronald Quandt from WinFuture.de has spilled some major beans on Samsung’s Galaxy S10 lineup. The tipster has leaked some major information regarding the device.

According to the tipster, the Samsung Galaxy S10 would come in three variants, namely, the Samsung Galaxy S10E, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10 Plus.

If true, Samsung could finally be upgrading their RAM to 6GB this time around, at least with the Samsung Galaxy S10E. Speaking of the Galaxy S10E, expect to see 6GB of RAM and a 128GB storage shelled into its glass/ceramic body. Color options also seem to have taken a twist this year with the Galaxy S10E being offered in four colors, that is, Prism Black, Green, White, Canary Yellow.

Coming over to the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus and we get to see a considerable upgrade here. Unlike the Galaxy S10E that comes in one storage and memory variant, the Samsung Galaxy S10 would come in two variants, that is, a 6GB/128GB variant as well as an 8GB/512GB variant while retaining the same color options from the S10E apart from Canary Yellow being replaced with Blue this time around.

And if you’re all about Samsung’s new flagship, with the S10 Plus, you could snag a whopping 12GB of RAM along with 1TB of internal storage shelled in a ceramic black or white body.

As standard, expect the rest of the spec sheet to deviate along their lines with the main difference between the three being the storage, memory, camera and display sizes. Rest assured, while not officially confirmed, the Samsung Galaxy S10 family would come with the newly announced Exynos 9820 SoC or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855.

Regarding pricing, RQuandt suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S10E, S10, and S10 Plus and S10 Plus Ceramic would retail for 749 Euro, 899/1149 Euro, and 999/1249/1499 Euro in Europe, respectively.

For those who can’t wait to see what Samsung has in store for 5G, it seems like you’re going to wait even longer as we head down 2019.

Samsung’s Galaxy Foldable Device Gets Its Official Trailer Leaked

0

Samsung’s definitely making a huge comeback this year. After years of facing stiff competition from the Chinese coast, it seems like Samsung’s new foldable device is coming sooner than what you would expect. It seems like Samsung Vietnam could have spilled the beans this year for Samsung after shortly releasing a teaser trailer of the device.

Thanks to a nice catch by the moderators at Slashleaks, it seems like we have an idea of what Samsung’s Galaxy foldable device may look like. While dark, Samsung made sure that a lot of the device’s details remain as vague as they could even though it may seem like Samsung may have completely spilled the beans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P86t1F-B5Hs

While unorthodox, it seems like the display would not only extend into a tablet on one side but it would also feature a display on its back as well. It seems like Samsung’s planning to continue with their concepts for now while the technology progresses through its infant stages.

While pricing of Samsung’s foldable device seems to be out of reach for pretty much everyone at this point now that leaks have tipped what price we could expect to see this device at. And as Canalys suggested, only time would bring these devices to the masses while at the same time polish the new format.

How Samsung and Xiaomi’s clash goes is yet to be seen and would definitely be a spectacle to admire later this year.

While it’s a new format, we can’t wait to see what Samsung pulls out of its magic hat.

Samsung Breaks The 1 Terabyte Barrier With The First 1TB eUFS 2.1 Chip

0

The evolution for portable storage has come a long way from the very first smartphone featuring only a few hundred megabytes of storage to the latest smartphones averaging out at 256 gigabytes with the upper limit set to the 512-gigabyte threshold. Samsung out of all is keen on innovating the modern concept of smartphones pushing the limits to the extreme. The upcoming S10 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2019 and is expected to set the tone for smartphones coming out this year.

Samsung Electronics today introduced the industry’s first 1TB flash storage chip fit for upcoming smartphones. Storage is one of the core set of features considered by consumers when purchasing a new smartphone. Throughout the years’ many manufacturers have tried to find alternative solutions to unlimited storage on the go, with cloud storage acting as a catalyst for innovation during those years. The idea, however, couldn’t work due to the requirement of a stable internet connection in order to access the cloud. Now, the initiative itself isnt a total failure, in fact, a wide variety of services rely on it and Apple, Google all use cloud storage to maximize efficiency on modern smartphones.

The 1TB eUFS would bring notebook grade performance in the palm of your hand. Not only that but the 1TB eUFS possesses immense superiority in terms of performance and speed over the previous generation. Moreover, smartphone users will be able to hold over 260 10 minute videos in native 4K over a measly 13 which was possible until now. The read speeds have also bumped up to 1000 MB/s almost twice as fast as traditional SATA SSDs. Furthermore, the random read speed has increased by up to 38% over the 512GB version, clocking in at up to 58,000 IOPS. These numbers are 500 times better than the speeds possible on micro SD cards.

It is certain that we would see more phones equipped with 1TB of storage and won’t require any sort of additional storage options.

Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Likely To Feature 1TB UFS 2.1 Storage

0

Samsung shook everyone with their latest announcement. As we head closer to the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event where Samsung is expected to showcase the new lineup of Samsung Galaxy S10 devices, Samsung has yet again dropped another bomb regarding the Samsung Galaxy S10.

In a press release published a while ago, Samsung has announced that they’ve prepared a new capacity of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup of devices. Following the launch of the 512GB Galaxy Note 9 from last year, Samsung has doubled the capacity this year by bumping up the storage capacity to 1TB, that too while improving on the UFS 2.1 standard.

While Samsung has kicked our sandcastle where we predicted that Samsung would be packing UFS 3.0 storage in the upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup of devices, it certainly seems like Samsung is definitely on their way to introducing UFS 3.0 storage really soon. – I’m looking at you, Note 10! –

Samsung continues to renovate and improve on its NAND technology and details how they’ve managed to achieve yet another “industry-first” with these new chips. Samsung says that they’ve stacked 16 layers of 512Gb (64GB) V-NAND flash memory along with a new storage controller to allow these new chips to achieve 1000 MB/s reads and 260 MB/s writes despite the bump in storage capacity.

While Samsung hasn’t specifically said that these new storage technologies would be used in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10, there’s no doubting that it’s most likely to happen now that UFS 3.0 is out of the question. Leaks in the past have suggested that Samsung may pack 1TB of internal storage. However, they have also suggested that Samsung would take these upgrades to the next level on the memory side of the pack as well by featuring up to 12GB of RAM in the upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup.

With Samsung now opting out of the party, it seems highly unlikely that we may see OnePlus opt for UFS 3.0 storage as well on the upcoming OnePlus 7 unless Samsung does drop another swing next month showcasing that the technology is ready. As far as we could see, it seems like while Samsung has prepped the technology necessary for UFS 3.0 chips and controllers, we may not see these chips arriving in devices before 2020. Let’s hope the Galaxy Note 10 changes our narrative on this statement.

The question on our mind right now is what variant of the Galaxy S10 would be packing this behemoth.
