Over the last few months, reports started to flood various social platforms discussing the likes of a brand new Batman game past the “Arkham Knight” that came out years ago. Leaking little to no details, the only lead brought to light was the fact that Warner Bros was actively working on a spinoff batman game separated from the sequence line built over the Arkham series.
Today marks the first-ever reveal of the upcoming “Gotham Knights” title developed by folks over at WB Montreal. The game takes place in a world past Batman’s death filled with the finest of criminals in all of the multiverse. It is now up to the Batman family to keep things under control and save Gotham from absolute chaos. The trailer showcases Tim Drake’s Robin alongside Batgirl, the veteran Nightwing and most importantly Red Hood.
Unarguably being one of the first games to ever introduce the Bat-family as protagonists in a world filled with detail and horror is in itself a dream come true. For enthusiasts to grab hold of Red Hood for the first time ever that too in what seems like an open-world setting. The visuals represented by the trailer look spectacular however what we hope to know is whether the game would showcase Gotham in broad daylight, unlike the previous game.
“Gotham Knights” is planned for a release next year with no particular month specified. Given the looks of the game, it seems that the game would target the next generation consoles taking full advantage of their heightened capabilities.
Crysis pretty much dawned the PC superiority in the gaming section with its spectacular visuals, high-quality ambience and a thrilling storyline. The game immediately garnered attention from all sectors introducing almost real-life graphics.
Over the years the game aged beautifully and thanks to having such an active community on the PC platform, kept on receiving updates and mods. Mods spilling out the best of the best visuals at the time further proved how well off the PC platform had been for enthusiasts and further widened the gap.
This time around, however, the ever so popular title is back with a proper RTX remaster fit for today’s standards. Revealed on the official Twitter page, the news came up with a 50-second teaser clip showing off the efforts of the studio behind working to make the most out of the game. Introducing textures up to 8K in resolution, active ray tracing, better ambience and so much more. The lighting alone makes the game look a thousand times better than it was originally made. Being able to revive such an absolute classic is something old school enthusiasts enjoy most.
The finished product is scheduled to release this September 18th on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and of course PC. Folks on the Nintendo Switch do have the ability to purchase the game digitally for $29.99 right now.
Samsung hasn’t been the best company when it comes to software updates. The South Korean giant is largely seen praised its excellent flagships but has rarely received praise for software updated due to its lackluster attention to detail past the first year.
Samsung, over the past year or so has begun paying major attention to the software experience on their devices and it seems like the company is planning to take it a step further as Samsung continues double down on OneUI.
In a press release, Samsung announced that they would be committing to supporting a lot of their recent phones with updates for the next three generations of Android. The teaser trailer for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War just dropped and the latest addition to the Black Ops series looks rather different, to say the least. The franchise has built its name over the past decades by introducing a fast-paced FPS experience paired with engaging emotional storylines. While the hype for the Call of Duty Franchise itself has somewhat settled down over the past few years things look bright as ever with the development studios willing to experiment more and more.
The new teaser is the perfect example of what the studios behind the franchise have been up to. Introducing games with similar themes did make fans tired out of the whole idea of a new Call of Duty title. The new trailer looks a lot more mature and the fact that the story is inspired by true events makes it even more interesting. Lighting the events of the Cold War era is something the media hasn’t been able to do properly and building the perfect story around the events is something fans expect of Activision.
Black Ops: Cold War being the 5th addition to the legendary franchise has gotten enthusiasts pumped and for good reason. The classic theme around the Cold War era is somewhat a breath of fresh air representing a world without filters. A proper reveal of the game is scheduled for August 26th with more details to go on about.
The brand new Xbox Series X is set to reveal later this year and is undeniably on its way to set brand new standards to our modern-day gaming norms. One of the most important parts of the console segment has been the overall system performance, most notably the frontline UI. The visuals make up most of what the console represents and what it stands for. The existing Windows 10 UI despite having no major faults seems rather dated and it was about time Microsoft spiced things up.
Microsoft recently announced it’s brand new Xbox Experience tailored to perfection for the powerful new Xbox generation bringing in a simpler, more interactive experience for users allowing more engagement at the home screen. The new UI looks rather similar to what we’ve had for Xbox with minute changes brought in throughout the years. One of the key factors being Xbox’s ever so popular Gamepass, this new UI focusses heavily on bringing uniformity and ease of usage for folks trying to stream their favourite titles across multiple devices.
Moreover, the UI itself looks a lot more tamed and matured introducing clean-cut visuals throughout the home screen. These features are to naturally make their way towards Xbox apps across various platforms producing a sense of uniformity and providing ease of access regarding notifications, messages and more.
Being more timid, elegant and visually appealing, the new Xbox Experience is surely one of the highlights of the upcoming console. The updates are sure to begin rolling in the coming weeks with various tweaks being made to the insider beta.
Asus garnered major praise for their Zenfone 6 last year. Finally after all those years of mediocre releases, Asus made a major breakthrough. With the Zenfone 6 finally making a year since its release, its about time Asus reveals what the Zenfone 7 has in store.
Asus has begun teasing the debut of the Zenfone 7 over on Twitter, featuring what seems to be a hardcore emphasis on improving camera performance on the Zenfone 7. However, as with most devices, it seems like leaksters have done their job, spilling the beans the Zenfone 7.
In a leak posted by RealMeizu , the successor to the Zenfone 6 is set to come with a mediocre 6.4-inch 1080p 60Hz display paired with the latest internals with the likes of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, upto 256GB of internal storage, and a 5000mAh battery. Furthermore, the device is also said to come with 5G support, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual nanoSIM card slots as well as enough space for an SD card.
With the flagship market pretty much moving over to high-refresh displays, the Zenfone 7’s lack of at least a 90Hz display would be detrimental for Asus’s enthusiasts given the incredible perception Asus had laid out with the launch of the Zenfone 6 last year. Furthermore, the lack of the Snapdragon 865 Plus simply prompts that we could be looking at yet another budget device with an 865 for the sake of it.
However, with that being said, Asus is definitely making sure that the cameras on the Zenfone 7 are on par with the competition, with the leak suggesting the inclusion of a triple camera setup on its rear featuring the likes of the 64MP Sony IMX686 as its main, a IMX363 12MP ultra-wide and an unknown sensor for its TOF capabilities.
Geekbench leaks featuring the Zenfone 7 under the model, ASUS_I002D, score the device incredibly well with the device managing to score 961 and 3352 in single-core and multi-core benchmarks, keeping it inline with the competition and similar devices featuring the same Snapdragon 865.
Asus is expected to officially reveal the device next week, August the 26th. According to Ronald Quandt, the device is set to come in two variants, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB with the former of the two starting at 499 Euros and the latter of the two for 549 Euros which is right in line with that the Zenfone 6 launched for last year.
Rumors and renders have been emerging ever since Samsung first released the Samsung Galaxy S20 series earlier this year. With the company announcing their latest Note 20 series of series this month, all eyes are set on Samsung’s lite flagships that are supposedly being dubbed with FE.
In a series of leaks by Evan Blass, Samsung has finally revealed some incredible renders of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, revealing the design language, features and more.
According to the leak, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is going to come in six radically unique colors. Obviously, like most launches we could expect a lot of these colors to be exclusively be sold in certain regions. However, given the renders, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE doesn’t look half bad.
While the inclusion of such a device does look unnecessary, it seems like Samsung’s confidently sticking with their decision on consistently releasing Lite versions of their flagships. As the name suggest, the FE is going to sit right under the entry-level Samsung Galaxy S20, featuring the Exynos 990, 8GB RAM, upto 256GB of internal storage and more. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is said to come to a 6.5-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display, albeit at 1080p, but an amazing inclusion overall.
While pricing for the FE hasn’t been made public, we’d be surprised to see if the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE retails for anything above $700 given how the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite was priced. Furthermore, the lack of any information regarding the Qualcomm variant of the phone suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE may yet again be a phone that may never make its way to the North American market officially.
Cloud Gaming is indeed the future of modern-day gaming. Needing no real obligation to own beefy hardware yet being able to enjoy full-fledged video games at a moment’s notice any time, any place is certainly the way forward and Apple definitely seems to agree.
Apple’s latest filed patent in Europe suggests Apple making moves towards the 5G sector to introduce a first-party cloud gaming service. Apple from the very start has been all about first-party content and alternatives. The company holds massive pride in its own creations and provides quality alternatives for users locking them deeper into its ecosystem.
Source: Patently Apple
As cloud gaming reaches its usable stages driven by the likes of Google and Microsoft, Apple is sure to intervene making way for its very own private sector and prioritizing it over its devices. However, a recent dispute between the company and Epic Games regarding their cut from the App Store has made various rumours go around. Most prominent of which claim that Apple would take its development tools away from Epic Games and restrict the use of Unreal Engine.
Considering these drastic measures, we can’t be completely sure whether Apple intends to go all out like Microsoft’s aggressive approach with the Game Pass or if it intends to take the subtle road down inviting various different studios to feature their games on its platform.
It seems like Vivo has begun brewing yet another device to enter their IQOO series of devices. Their new flagship, allegedly dubbed as the IQOO 5, has begun making its rounds on Geekbench revealing what seems to be yet another beastly gaming flagship from the sub-brand.
Based off the details we could extract from the leak, the Vivo IQOO 5 seems to be featuring what seems to be yet another Snapdragon 865+ SoC, 12GB of memory, at least on the specific variant that’s smiling for the internet right here. Furthermore, the device seems to be running on Android 10 out of the box and managed to score 4293 and 13495 in the single-core and multi-core department, respectively.
What’s odd about the leak is that the device managed to score considerably higher than most flagships featuring the same processor. Pricing definitely seems to be a major concern this year and it would be interesting to see how Vivo prices the device amongst the stiff competition, especially with the inclusion of the much expensive 5G modem on flagships this year.
Flagships like the Asus ROG Phone 3 and the OnePlus 8 Pro are two of the biggest competitors to the IQOO 5. With the leaks coming in, it seems like the release of the IQOO 5 may be a couple of week away from now. With the competition underway, we could expect the IQOO 5 to retail for around US $649.
Samsung is reportedly bringing back the headphone jack in its upcoming smartphones. Tipped by a trusty leaker, the Korean tech giant is in the midst of talks on the pros and cons of the decision. While bringing it back on the S series would definitely raise hype, on the other hand, the Note series fits in more naturally since the Note platform stands for a do-it-all smartphone.
Headphone Jack 👀
Samsung -considering- bringing it back, as a risky experiment "to see what happens" for at least 1 year ETA: 2021+ some points debated:
S = the media will go wild, free publicity Note = ↑↑ + good lineup for experiments, but less revenue
Samsung being one of the leading smartphone manufacturers has had a huge impact on the general smartphone trends and traditions over the course of these past years. However, not everything has been about bringing new features and setting a trend. In the case of the infamous headphone jack, keeping it on your flagship phone became a rather unique trend.
While most manufacturers have ended up removing the headphone jack as technology progressed in the wireless audio equipment sector, Samsung gained popularity amongst conservative smartphone users and for good reason. Having the option for a wired connection is never a bother yet other brands started to ponder whether the outdated platform was even worth space and price.
Samsung unexpectedly pulled the plug on their recent generation smartphones with recent phones having no headphone jacks at all. While the Galaxy Buds do offer a decent alternative option things arent quite the same without one.
While nothing is set in stone recent moves by Samsung have definitely been questionable it is definitely going to be interesting to see how they manage to bring back something like a minute headphone jack. Listening to its audience is Samsung’s best bet in the matter, to say the least.
Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the most talked-about games of the year holds a prime position in the modern gaming world despite major setbacks, delays and more.
However, things have finally started to take a turn for the better. CD Projekt Red’s latest project being all about perfectionism, versatility and details dropped new clues for fans and enthusiasts. This time around is a 2-minute trailer showcasing all the weapon features of the game. Being a modern-day open-world RPG, details and key details in all aspects of the game is a definite requirement. Combat is one of the major pillars of a good RPG title give it a supreme priority.
CD Projekt Red has done just that and incorporated specially designed weapons fit for the cyberpunk theme with weapons like the thermal katana and the projectile launch system taking innovation and imagination to the extreme. The question, however, remains whether the combat engine and the physics match up with these extremely diverse weapon options providing a seamless and entertaining experience to the users.
Constant efforts to polish and iron out any sort of bugs and glitches are made to the game at a constant rapid pace in order for the devs to live up to the hype created over the course of the past few years as we wait anxiously for the release date.
The Last of Us Part 2 by Naughty Dog has to be one of the most talked-about games of the year. Since before its release till after its launch the title remained the centre of attention for many.
This new update at a glance brings “Grounded” difficulty mode for hardcore gamers making it even more dangerous and difficult to go through the campaign. Removing key features like enhanced listening, multiple HUD features and much more. Furthermore, the studio has introduced a “Permadeath” mode for total hardcore gamers meaning no second chances. Players must complete the whole game without any deaths or just start over from the beginning.
While only having a spectacular single-player campaign which would inevitably end and render the game obsolete, Naughty Dog’s has brought in updates to the game including tons of features inspired by previous Naughty Dog games and PC mods.
8-bit Filter
Apart from a new level of difficulty this update also brings over 30 new graphic modes changing not only the video but the audio and feel of the game as well. Ranging from an 8-bit preset to a cel-shaded preset and everything in between. The update also brings fun little modifiers impacting the gameplay by quite a bit like having one-shot mode enabled or having infinite ammo and other mods like a slow-motion mode etc.
Apart from all this the studio has listened to fans and brought in various little gameplay changes making the game more enjoyable and playable for fans. The previous update brought in a photo mode taking the community by storm being widely accepted for such amazing levels of modification.
This update patch goes live today for all PS4 users through the PSN store.
PlayStation 4 has to be the benchmark for a successful console when it comes to modern-day gaming. Despite living its final stage, game sales have been increasing at a constant rate.
As reported by our trusty source, PS4’s video game sales almost doubled year over year recorded during the months of April and June. From 49.8 million units sold last year versus 91 million copies this year. The results are clear and it is totally believable considering how much hype upcoming exclusives brought to the platform. Moreover, the pandemic allowed more and more folks to stay indoors and resulted in more time spent on video games.
However, this isn’t the only staggering change brought over last year. In fact, digital sales saw a massive jump over the previous year by going up by over 154% from a mere 26.4 million copies to over 67.3 million copies. Going more than thrice its previous record it is evident that not only has the pandemic caused digital sales to grow at a staggering amount but it also didn’t affect the sales of physical copies.
The PS5 is all set to release with a completely digital edition and this data just proves how thought out was Sony’s plan. Despite increasing digital game sales over three times, the efficiency and reliability of having physical discs remained constant henceforth removing all suspicions induced by fans during the PS5 reveal.
Rocksteady has been closely working together with folks over at Warner Bros and over time have provided fans with brilliant memorable titles like Batman Arkham Asylum and the whole Batman series in that case. While fans were so focussed on the Batman franchise, just yesterday Rocksteady’s Twitter lit up with just a poster showcasing the Suicide Squad logo.
There were quite a few rumours going on about how the next Batman game would feature a completely different storyline and that it would be a spin-off series however nobody expected them to drop something like a different game. Complete details about the whole game are set to be revealed at the upcoming DC Fandome event taking place this August 22nd.
Some may argue the fact that having such an important release just thrown away with a singular post is a major waste and hurts the hype for the game yet the hype never settles down especially when Superman is involved. The revealed image clearly shows Superman in the background which might eventually lead to standalone Supes game fans have been craving since forever.
Moreover having other characters of the universe brought together would further pave way for their standalone titles. As we’ve discussed previously, DC plans on rebooting its universe both in terms of cinema and in terms of video games and it isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Having gone through various stages of experimentation if the folks over at Warner Bros feel confident now would only mean better things for us in the future leading to remarkable games.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 series had to be Samsung’s next big thing. Earlier this week, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy Note 20 family of devices, the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series continues to represent Samsung’s latest and greatest innovations. Beginning with what’s new on both, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, both devices come with mmWave as well as sub-6GHz 5G improvements and 25% brighter displays as well as the newer Snapdragon 865+ SoC to keep up with the competition.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – This Beast Continues To Get Better
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is Samsung’s new holy-grail, featuring the best of the best Samsung could offer, it doesn’t get better than this.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with the usual buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate paired with Corning’s latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that promises to offer much better shatter and scratch resistance. Furthermore, like its predecessor, comes with a selfie camera cutout which has become a signature design in Samsung’s Galaxy Note line.
In the specifications department, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with the all-new Snapdragon 865+ SoC / Exynos 990 SoC, upto 12GB of memory on its 5G variants, a 4500mAh battery and more.
Regarding cameras, it seems like Samsung’s relying on the incremental software improvements on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, like the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra that came before it, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with a triple camera setup on its rear, consisting of a 12MP ultra-wide, 12MP telephoto, as well as a 108MP main camera accompanied by the usual OIS and a 10MP selfie camera upfront. Furthermore, The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also comes with a Laser AF sensor and seems to have ditched the Space Zoom buzz on the device.
Contrary to the strict 5G releases earlier this year, it seems like Samsung would launch 4G and 5G variants of the device for different regions across the globe, pushing the 4G variants of the device in areas where 5G has its ways to go.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 – The Disappointing One
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is the second device carrying the Note 20 tag sharing what seems to be most of the spec sheet from the Note 20 Ultra, which a few major exceptions which may likely be a deal breaker for most.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 comes with a 60Hz 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. Furthermore, like the Note 20 and S20 series, the Note 20 comes with the usual seflie camera cutout within the display as well as the much brighter display Samsung touted at the release of the Note 20.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 though, the Samsung Note 20 carries a much toned down design. Not only does it not feature the Samsung aggressive styling and corners of the Note 20 Ultra, but Samsung also seems to be opting for a plastic back on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 rather than the glass on the Note 20 Ultra.
In the hardware department, the Note 20 comes with the new Snapdragon 865+ SoC / Exynos 990 SoC, 8GB RAM as standard on all variations of the device as well a 4300mAh battery powering the device under the hood.
Like its S20 cousins from earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 shares a 12MP ultra-wide and telephoto camera sensor along with a 64MP telephoto shooter under the hood. Moving over to the front of the device, and it seems like Samsung Galaxy Note 20 continues to share the same 10MP selfie camera like the Note 20 Ultra does.
Like the Note 20 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 would also come in 4G and 5G variants. However, regardless of what variant you opt for, the Note 20 would come with 8GB of memory across the board.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series – Variants, Extra Features, Pricing and Release Dates
Now the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra seem to be destined for two radically different consumers. Despite the major differences in hardware, Samsung’s pricing strategy seems to be unaffected.
In addition to that, if you’re a gamer, Samsung has teamed up with Microsoft to bring Xbox’s Game Pass to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, allowing you to stream Xbox titles to your Samsung Galaxy Note 20 device.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are currently up for preorder, with the former of the two starting at $999 and the latter starting at $1299. With the pre-orders underway, Samsung continues to entice consumers with a generous trade-in program for folks who are looking to move to the Note 20.
There’s no telling whether Samsung would be retailing the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series with a smaller price tag given that these 4G variants are going to arrive on shores where 5G might take a while just like how OnePlus had done with the launch of the OnePlus 8 series.
Regardless of pricing, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series do bring some fresh colors to the table. Beginning with the Note 20 Ultra, the Note 20 Ultra would come in Mystic Bronze, Black, and White. On the Note 20, you’re looking at Mystic Bronze, Green, and Grey.
The PS Now platform for Sony has done wonders, especially on its PC port. Fans and enthusiasts have been able to enjoy their favourite exclusive titles and while others who just can’t afford beefy hardware enjoy streaming top-quality games.
Sony previously announced on how every year a list of new games would be added to the streaming service as part of an improvement program. This news struck the right spot especially given the conditions of social distancing due to the ongoing pandemic.
This time around, Hitman 2 has joined the August list of games. Having been one of the most popular games developed by Square Enix, Hitman 2 brings the classic Hitman experience with international contracts, unparalleled stealth missions and so much more. Pair all that with modern-day graphics and we’ve got a worthy contender for folks to pour their gaming hours in. Having said that, the game gets quite addictive with uncountable different ways to a single mission it never gets old.
Alongside Hitman 2, Greedfall and Dead Cells have also joined the service. These new additions are to last till February 1st 2021. It is interesting to see how Sony has kept its streaming service quite distant from its other base of operations. While Microsoft has gone all out with its Game Pass almost blurring the line between platforms, PlayStation, on the other hand, has kept PS Now quite conservative.
It’ll definitely be an interesting watch to see how both the services stack up as we move towards the next generation of consoles.
Just yesterday, Samsung held its reveal event showcasing the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 in all its glory introducing countless new quirks and features. However, things took an interesting turn when the partnership between Samsung and Microsoft was revealed.
Now Microsoft has been in the gaming industry for quite some time and the Xbox platform has evolved quite a bit especially these past few years. In an attempt to take initiative and debut its cloud gaming infrastructure, Microsoft has teamed up with Samsung allowing a sort of an expansion to what the Xbox Game pass is.
Allowing for over 100+ streamable games in the palm of your hand and being accessible directly from the Galaxy Store, it seems that the Xbox platform is expanding outwards and for good reason. Beginning this September 15th, folks would be able to download the Xbox app from the Galaxy Store and enjoy top tier games anywhere without any strings attached.
As we’ve discussed countless times previously, Microsoft’s strategy to bring in a Game pass to its platform has opened opportunities for both gamers and developers leaving more leeway for enjoyment. Moreover, as we’ve noticed with Google’s Stadia project, cloud gaming is certainly a step towards the right direction especially given how much internet speeds have improved.
Moreover, a special edition gaming bundle would be available for orders for the Galaxy Note 20. Including the new Power A MOGA XP5-X Plus Bluetooth Controller with an attachable phone clip with a three-month Game Pass subscription as a cherry on top. Pre-orders begin today while as far the cloud gaming bundle is concerned, opening up in over 22 markets including North America, Europe and South Korea going live this September 15th.
The PlayStation 5 is set to release in Holiday 2020. We have not received much information since the consoles unveil and Sony has confirmed that we won’t get to hear or see any major news regarding the PlayStation 5 on the upcoming State of Play on 6th August. However, backend suppliers seem to have begun getting the internals of the PlayStation 5 shipped to Sony’s factories, a report by the DigiTimes alleges.
Sony revealed their next-generation console, the PlayStation 5, earlier this year. A lot of information was given regarding the console itself., many games were also revealed alongside the consoles unveil. However, Sony hasn’t revealed any information regarding the pricing or release date of their upcoming console
Backend providers ASE Technology and Greek Electronics have started completing their shipments, allowing Sony to stay on track with the manufacturing deadlines as the holiday season nears. Microsoft has no news regarding the Xbox Series X which could mean that Sony is ahead of Microsoft in the manufacturing process, we may actually get to see the PlayStation 5 be released a tiny bit earlier than Microsoft. However, this could also point towards Microsoft being secretive about their manufacturing process.
Fortnite came out with its new V13.40 Joy Ride update today with some minor changes and bug fixes. The main highlight of the update, however, is the addition of drivable cars. Four new cars have been introducing and they can run out of gas, so there are gas pumps scattered across the map for you to refuel your cars and get back on the road.
Ever since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds release, many games have been jumping ship to its large PvP battle royale game design, and Fortnite was one of these games. Fortnite’s original game mode was a zombie game mode where you could team up with three other players to complete objectives and build your base. When Epic Games jumped aboard the battle royale trend, they didn’t just copy PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, instead, they incorporated Fortnite’s own original elements like the building mechanic into it which is what made it so popular. One thing they didn’t include was drivable cars, while this doesn’t seem as important it is a very convenient and fun game element that allows players to get across the map quickly.
This update adds drivable cars and we see a total of 4 different ones. The first one is named Islander Prevalent which seems to be a normal daily driven family sedan that resembles most modern-day family sedans, you can fit up to 4 players in this. The second one is named Victory Motors Whiplash which has a sporty look to it and its styling resembles the DMC DeLorean quite a bit, it seems you may only fit in 2 players here.
The third one is named OG Bear and it’s a basic plain pickup truck, it seems like only two players may fit inside and someone could stand in the cargo bed of the truck as well making for fun gameplay moments. The fourth and last one is called Titano Mudflap, and this one seems to be a big cargo truck one which you wouldn’t wanna cross in front of.
Logitech has been missing from the sim-racing world every since their last G920/G29 racing wheel’s in 2015. Since then, they have been working with sim drivers and professional race car drivers to develop an all-new realistic sim-racing experience for racing fans. The new Logitech G923 Racing Wheel from Logitech G brings a number of new features, subtle improvements, and a trick up its sleeve called TRUEFORCE.
The Logitech G923 Racing Wheel comes with a programmable dual-clutch launch control system. Just like how the launch control systems work in real cars, similarly, this allows sim-racers to launch a car from 0 to 100 real quick by maximizing traction and minimum tire smoke. To make the brake pedals feel more responsive, Logitech has made the Brake Pedals Progressive which should make it more responsive, realistic, and add control.
The Racing Wheel also comes with a built-in rev indicator that goes from green to red as you approach the redline, on-wheel game controls to navigate through the game menus. There is also a 24-point selection dial which allows the user to adjust torque, brake force, traction, and many other functions.
TRUEFORCE is an all-new revolutionary feature on the Logitech G923 and it’s the main highlight as well. TRUEFORCE has been developed over many years with feedback from sim-races and real race car drivers to get it to give as much of realistic driving experience as possible. TRUEFORCE is a proprietary force feedback system that uses actual game physics and audio in real-time. This should allow players to feel every bit of the road, tires, suspension, engine, etc. The TRUEFORCE system has the ability to directly communicate with the game engine and pull all sorts of data to give an experience never experienced before in sim-racing.
Game Developers will have to implement support for TRUEFORCE in their games to fully utilize its capabilities. Grid 2019, Assetta Corsa Competizione, and Gran Turismo Sport are the only three games that support TRUEFORCE as of right now but more games are expected to support this feature going forward.
The Logitech G923 Raching Wheel and Pedals will work with Xbox, PlayStation, & PC. There are are two variants, PC/PlayStation and PC/Xbox. The wheel is priced at $399 and is available to pre-order right now.
Sony’s State of Play is set to return this Thursday, with a direct objective of showcasing upcoming PS4 and PS VR titles focussing on third party studios.
