The episode starts with a boy named Alto who studies at The Royal Ortigia Magic Academy. He asks his principal why he is kept in the first year until now and the principal says that Alto is good in all the other fields except for summoning a familiar. Next, we see Lilia asking him about what happened in the conversation with the principal and getting angry about it. Alto stops her and says that he will have to summon a familiar.
Alto goes to the library when suddenly a book falls over his head. He felt that it is quite old and takes it home. The books had some spells written. He makes a circle and casts the spells and soon after that light comes out from that circle.
Alto then offers his blood and asks for the name. After that, he sees dark smoke all over and knew that he has summoned something. Then a demon girl is seen whom he called. He asked her to wear clothes as if she was naked. She then tells him to not feel shy and ask for anything he wants. And Alto asks her to be his familiar.
\Then a familiar symbol appears on Vermeil’s chest and also in their hand of Alto. After that, she kisses him. She tells him because he made her free from the book she would help him by being familiar.
The scene shifts to Alto telling his principal about the demon he summoned but the principal says that it’s just a human being and he has not summoned anything. Vermeil then shows her familiar symbol to him and he believes them.
Alto gets passes to the second year. The principal asks Vermeil if she wants to be Alto’s familiar and she agrees. And then they sit in the class. Vermeil sits on Alto’s lap which Lilia very angry. Vermeil then says that everybody is sitting with their familiar and so is she just sitting with his master and the principal sees no problem in that then.
In the next scene, we see Lilia challenge Alto for a dual with a condition that if he wins Lilia will have to do what he says. Lilia agrees and summons his demon which was a wind spirit. Vermeil somehow wins the challenge and Alto asks Lilia to be friends with Vermeil. They both agree to it and shake hands. After that, the demon girl tells Alto that Lilia is in love with him. But Alto refuses this and says that they are just old friends. She then asks him for mana and they kiss.
