Shocking1 Famous Yu-gi-oh! Creator Kazuki Takahashi Passes Away Aged 60

Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi has been found dead in Okinawa Japan. It was said in a Japanese news NHK that the popular creator has left us at the age of 60. It is a very big loss to the manga industry. People are expressing grief and condolences after hearing the sad news which came out on July 6th, 2022.

According to the news, Kazuki was found dead off the coast of Nago city, Okinawa, Japan. The body was found wearing snorkeling gear approximately 300 meters off the Nago coast by a passing boater.

He has been traveling alone in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture. The reason behind the death is unknown but there is an investigation going on. The manga world lost a legend who cherished a lot of childhoods with joy. This is a great loss we have lost an incredible creator, very shocking news for everyone who has been following Yu-Gi-Oh! Now we can only wish for his soul to rest in peace.

The man who added a good part of his creation to many lives and touched so many hearts has left. It is rightly said that the person leaves the world but their work as an artist stays alive forever.

Takahashi was a manga artist since 1982. He found success through Yu-Gi-Oh! which was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump where it was serialized until 2004. It sold over 40 million copies and later got adaptations into a manga series and card game.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! series tells a story about a young boy named Yugi Motor who solved an Egyptian puzzle that unleashed the dark forces. Takahashi also created several other manga series such as Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, Kazuki-san, and Akikosan. Takahashi has impacted so many lives.

Till now there is a demand and interest for his creation among fans. Fans are mourning his death around the world remembering his part as a creator.

Kazuki Takahashi had posted a quote at the end of his original Yu-Gi-Oh manga which said

Yu-Gi-Oh was recognized as the world’s best-selling trading card game with around 25 billion cards sold around the world as of 2011. The 100th Yu-Gi-Oh event was held in Long Beach, California is recognized as the largest trading card game tournament ever. Konami the producer and distributor of Yu-Gi-Oh trading card pledged to continue the franchise & legacy alongside Takashi’s fans.

Kazuki Takahashi will always be remembered and respected for his work. His legacy has spanned five decades and will forever be alive. Yu-Gi-Oh was his best work which inspired so many movies, TV shows, and video games. The Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards are second only to Pokemon and still generate billions in revenue for Konami.
