Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, is the next film on Marvel Studios’ theatrical schedule. After defeating Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, the former King of Asgard is about to embark on his most daring adventure yet, and this quest will put no strain on him.
Thor 4’s marketing campaign has been full of twists and turns, with the first trailer debuting in April and the film having the shortest promotional tour of any MCU film ever. The second fresh batch of video, released a few weeks ago, gave fans something to shout about, focusing primarily on Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher and delivering more action from Natalie Portman’s new Jane Foster.
Fans are eagerly awaiting new plot details and mysteries to solve as Hemsworth and Portman take the Phase 4 spotlight. With just over a month until the fourth Thor film hits theatres, fans are eagerly awaiting new plot details and mysteries to solve as Hemsworth and Portman take the Phase 4 spotlight.
Now, due to a recent awards event, Marvel Studios has given us a peek behind the scenes of what Taika Waititi and his team have been up to.
Marvel Studios debuted the first full trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, which will hit theatres on July 8, at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Thor sees Mjolnir hurtling through the air in this 23-second teaser, which builds on what viewers saw in the first two trailers. He reaches out for his hammer, calling and whistling to it like a pet dog, only for the hammer to fly into Jane Foster’s hand, leaving Thor speechless.
Jane then swirls the hammer in her hands in the same way that Thor has done in previous films, though fans will only hear the familiar sound effects before the scene concludes.
Despite the fact that Marvel Studios only released a fraction of a minute of footage, it’s amazing to see the legendary hammer Mjolnir return to the MCU.
Thor appears to have previously seen his beloved hammer during the battle in New Asgard as he fights the oncoming horde of bad men, based on the way he refers to it. It’s unclear whether he’s seen Jane’s new Thor look at this point, but he’s obviously perplexed by what he sees in front of him now that his ex-girlfriend is a superhero in her own right.
As Hemsworth reintroduces his God of Thunder into the tale, this little clip demonstrates how Thor 4 will continue the trend of combining spectacular action with Taika Waititi’s particular brand of humour. The anticipation for how he interacts with Jane while she works through her own journey is already mounting, especially as their reunion propels the plot and adventure ahead.
