A recent rumor from Deadline suggests that production on the upcoming episode of True Detective, titled Night Country, is now underway behind the scenes. At this point, Issa López is scheduled to write the pilot episode, as well as executive produce and direct it. In the meantime, Barry Jenkins will also be serving in an executive producing capacity.
