Despite the fact that Euphoria’s critically lauded second season has come to a close, the program has been renewed for a third season. Rue, Zendaya’s character, is a recovering juvenile drug addict who narrates the HBO smash series. Is there a third season planned?
Yes! After the show’s second season’s popularity, HBO has renewed the fan favorite for a third season. On Friday, February 4, 2022, the show’s official Twitter account announced the announcement.
According to Deadline, showrunner Sam Levinson will continue to hold down the fort for the forthcoming season of Euphoria. “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have elevated Season 2 to extraordinary heights, pushing narrative convention and form while preserving its heart,” said Francesca Orsi, HBO Programming’s Executive Vice President. “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this wonderful, tremendously talented team, and we couldn’t be more excited to go on Season 3 with them.”
When will Euphoria season three be released?
First of all, Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on Now and Sky Atlantic in the UK, so you’ll want to keep you ear to the ground for updates on the show’s release dates on the viewing platforms.

Secondly, it’s worth bearing in mind that Covid-19 delayed Euphoria season two’s release, so we’re expecting that if things run smoothly this year, we could see season three arrive as early as 2023.
What will the third season be about?
If the first two seasons and the special bridge episodes are any indication, the program will most likely start up where it left off. Because season 2 ended on such a dramatic note for characters like Fez, Nate, and Cal, the future season will most likely continue these themes or focus on characters that didn’t get much screen time in season 2. (looking at you, Gia, Lexi, Faye, Ethan, and Kat).
In terms of Storm Reid’s character, Gia, the actress hopes that she will be given the chance to rehabilitate in season 3. “I think in season 1, it was a lot about Rue’s troubles on the front line and her struggles being represented,” the 18-year-old told E! News. She went on to say that in the second season of the show, Gia became “fed up” with her older sister.
“I hope we can reconcile a lot of things, and I hope Gia gets to express more of her personality and how she thinks about things,” Storm stated, before noting that the role has had an impact on her mental health. “Normally, after you call cut and say it’s a wrap for the day, I’m able to go home and be fine, but I spent a lot of time after the fact thinking about what we shot — I believe it disturbed me a lot.”
“Seeing [Rue] kick down the door and scream at me and like us tussling, I was just like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t want to do this anymore,'” says the actor. The filming of Rue’s intervention in season 2 was reported by Storm.
Who makes up the Euphoria season 3 cast?
You’ll be happy to know that Zendaya is expected to resume her role as Rue Bennett, in addition to starring alongside Euphoria regulars like Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Barbie Ferreira (Kat), Algee Smith (Chris), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Maude Apatow (Lexi) and Dominic Fike (Elliot).

Based on this information, we’ll have to wait at least another year for the third season of Euphoria to appear. HBO, on the other hand, has yet to announce an official release date.
Who will be back for Season 3?
Some characters may not return for the future season after the dramatic Season 2 finale. Fez’s “little bro” was shot by the cops when Faye’s boyfriend, Custer, told the cops that Ashtray and Fez were behind Mouse’s murder. Because the character is no longer alive, he will most likely only appear in flashbacks or dreams in season 3. Cal, Nate’s father, was also arrested near the season’s end, however, Eric Dane hinted that he would be back for season 3 on February 28, 2022.
“There will be a happy ending. That’s the path he’s on, after all “Eric said to Variety. “Cal’s life in solitary prison is unimaginable to me. When Cal is imprisoned, it’s difficult to incorporate him into the plot.” In the upcoming season, he also hopes Cal is given the chance to “fix his relationship” with Nate.
Rue also survived a dangerous situation with Laurie, therefore she’ll most certainly feature in the following season, especially because Rue never returned the suitcase with $10,000 worth of cocaine.
Dominic Fike said that his character, Elliot, will “definitely” return for the show’s third season in a February 2022 interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

What can we expect from Season 3?
Zendaya said about Rue in an interview with Variety: “Rue wants to be here, and it’s now up to her to make it happen. I sincerely hope that we will be able to learn more about her life and her sobriety path in the future.”
For the time being, it appears that the cast is unaware of what will happen next in the plot: “I’m clueless. I’m very intrigued, “In an interview with Variety, Maude Apatow stated. “We’ve heard a few whispers, but not much.”
Are there going to be any new characters?
Season 2 introduced a few new characters, from Faye to Elliot, and the third season is likely to do the same.
Keke Palmer expressed interest in appearing on the future season during an interview with Where Is the Buzz on March 16, 2022. “Sure, I’d make an appearance as a guest. Plus, Keke has already worked with a Euphoria star: she co-stars in Jordan Peele’s upcoming movie Nope with Barbie Ferreira.
Are there any trailers available?
There are no teasers or official trailers yet because the show was just renewed for a third season. If season 2 is any indication, a trailer will be released approximately a month before the new season premieres.
