10 Professors, Sorted Into Their Hogwarts Houses, HORRIBLE To the BEST Professors.

Many of Hogwarts’ most memorable professors would fit well into one of the school’s iconic houses.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had a faculty of talented, wise, and strong professors in charge of guiding Britain’s young witches and wizards into the future. They were never the focus of the expansive plot, but there was enough information to place them in one of Hogwarts’ legendary houses.

Many of these professors would have felt at ease in both houses, even if they had characteristics that made them more suited to one than the other. Others, on the other hand, were a perfect match for one particular house, to the point where the Sorting Hat wouldn’t hesitate to place them.

People change as they grow older, acquiring new values and views. Most people grow up from their adolescent selves, which explains why some Hogwarts professors end up in a different house as adults. There are, however, people who never change and, as adults, become even worse; such is the case with Dolores Umbridge.

10. Dolores Umbridge

Umbridge represents the worst aspects of the Slytherin house. She’s icy, self-centered, incredibly ambitious, and always prepared. Umbridge hides behind a veil of girliness, using various shades of pink to mask her ugliness. Umbridge is one of the best female movie villains, with fans despising her even more than Voldemort.

9. Filius Flitwick – Ravenclaw Filius Flitwick

One of Harry’s first encounters with a Hogwarts teacher is Flitwick. Flitwick is a series fixture, appearing in almost every book in the Potter series, although never developing a strong relationship with the Boy Who Lived. He is the Charms Master and Ravenclaw House’s Head, a position he adores.

8. Filius Flitwick Is The Best Hogwarts Professor

Adult Flitwick, like Umbridge, would be in the same Hogwarts house as his teenage counterpart. He remained dedicated to learning and continued to demonstrate the characteristics that made him a perfect candidate for the Raven House.

Snape, along with Dumbledore and Voldemort, is perhaps the best character in the Harry Potter films. He is the Potions Master, the Slytherin House Head, and a secondary adversary throughout the series. Snape despises Harry, but he nonetheless serves as his protector, keeping him out of harm’s way.

Snape is courageous in his own way, which could make him the ideal Gryffindor. His Slytherin traits, on the other hand, are more potent. Snape is resourceful and flexible, and he was able to convince Voldemort that he was still a Death Eater. Snape was also a Slytherin through and through, therefore he was bold and crafty.

7. Slytherin Sybill Trelawney

Sybill Trelawney is the most peculiar member of the Hogwarts staff, which is saying a lot. She enjoys speaking in an ethereal tone and providing doomsday predictions to any student who crosses her path. Trelawney considers herself a brilliant seer, and while most of her prophesies prove to be false, she is responsible for two of the series’ most important prophecies.

Trelawney was a Ravenclaw throughout her Hogwarts years, but as an adult, she would be a better fit for Slytherin. She was self-sufficient, egotistical, and had an exaggerated sense of self. Trelawney was skilled at twisting the truth and persuading others to believe it, skills that her fellow Slytherins would enjoy.

6. Slytherin Gilderoy Lockhart

Gilderoy Lockhart was an institution in the Wizarding World when it came to the dark arts. He is said to have fought a slew of dark creatures and written various novels about them. Of course, it was all a hoax, and Lockhart spent the rest of his days at St. Mungo’s after his memory spell failed.

Lockhart was a Ravenclaw throughout his Hogwarts years, but as an adult, he’s the face of Slytherin. He is ambitious, crafty, vicious, and resourceful, and he is capable of deceiving the entire Wizarding World. Even though he was silly, Lockhart was impressive.

5. Hufflepuff Rubeus Hagrid

One of Harry’s first buddies is Hagrid. Unlike other instructors who frequently behave as surrogate parents, Hagrid is always on Harry’s level, more of a friend than a mentor. Hagrid has spent most of his life being shunned due of his half-giant background, therefore he knows Harry better than anyone else.

Despite staying in Gryffindor during his time at Hogwarts, Hagrid is unmistakably a Hufflepuff. He’s kind, industrious, ridiculously compassionate, and devoted. He’s also a little irresponsible and acts on impulse, both of which are Gryffindor features; nonetheless, his Hufflepuff traits are undeniable. Hagrid is always willing to help and support his pals, which makes him a great member of the badger family.

4. Hufflepuff Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody

“Mad-Eye” Moody was a rambunctious figure. He first appears in Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts (or so everyone believes! ), but he turns out to be a disguised impostor. From book five on, the real Alastor Moody appears in important roles, serving as a teacher who is always ready to offer Harry some much-needed tough love.

Moody is a huge old softy, despite his formidable and slightly off-putting appearance. He looks after everyone around him and acts as a father figure to the Order. He may be a tough and stoic father, but he is still a father. Moody is the ideal candidate for Hufflepuff, tenacious, loving, and dependable, a man whose commitment and drive remained steadfast until the end.

3. Slytherin Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin, like the other Mauraders, was a Gryffindor, and it’s simple to see why. Lupin’s werewolf status isolated him from the rest of the world, thus it’s understandable that he’d be fiercely loyal and trustworthy of those he considered friends.

Lupin was brave as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, but he was never a jerk. Lupin was, in fact, usually colder and more analytical than Harry or Sirius. He was also self-sufficient and adaptive as a result of his years of living alone. Many people saw Lupin as a coward, while others saw him as a hero; this dichotomy of goals and conduct makes him the perfect Slytherin, someone who was many things at once, never completely revealing who he was within.

2. Ravenclaw’s Minerva McGonagall

Minerva McGonagall, the Head of Gryffindor House, is a paragon of responsibility and wisdom. She is passionate about her job as a teacher and is well-versed in the ins and outs of Hogwarts. McGonagall is also Dumbledore’s right hand, and after the Second Wizarding War is finished, she becomes headmistress.

McGonagall possesses some Gryffindor characteristics, although she possesses considerably more Ravenclaw characteristics. She values intelligence and wisdom, is inquisitive, analytical, and introspective. McGonagall is an observer who judges actions and not intentions and is always ready with a witty comment for any situation.

1. Slytherin Albus Dumbledore

The Harry Potter canon reveals that Dumbledore is a Gryffindor. However, it is easy to see why he would be a better fit for the Slytherin house. Dumbledore acted and sounded like a villain most of the time, manipulating events and people around him to achieve his ultimate goals.

Sure, those goals were for the greater good, but it’s apparent that Dumbledore had no qualms about lying, manipulating, or outright cheating to achieve them. The headmaster was cold, calculating, detached, resourceful, and selfish. That is, without a doubt, a Slytherin.
