Kenny Chesney’s ACM Award-winning country music includes love songs, but some of his romantic partnerships have served as sources of inspiration for him because of the love he has encountered throughout his life. Most famously, the “There Goes My Life” singer was married to ex-wife Renée Zellweger from May to September 2005, the former Hollywood couple was never blessed with children.
Maybe it’s for the wrong reasons that Kenny and Renée’s previous relationship is remembered. The country singer’s romance with the Bridget Jones’s Diary star ended just as abruptly as it had begun, despite the two initially had a close connection. The former couple initially connected at NBC’s “Concert of Hope” telethon in January 2005, when Judy star admitted to having a slight crush on each other.
Renée intended to make a move and “pass [Kenny] a letter” during the occasion, according to a friend of hers. Her conversations with the Grammy winner’s publicist, however, prevented her from carrying out her intentions since they were overheard before she could. According to the friend, “after the broadcast ended, Kenny went up [to Renée] and said, “I hear you are attempting to hand me a note—don’t let the principal find out.”
The fact that the former lovers got along so well is hardly surprising given that Kenny had been eying the Murder in the Heartland alum for a long time. He even included Renée with Janet Jackson and Charlize Theron as one of the “three hottest people.”

The romance between Kenny and the What If star took off when they made small talk at the NBC telethon. The “Knowing You” singer and the Rebel Highway actress publicly declared their love for one other in April after months of keeping their relationship a secret. Renée stunned the crowd by giving Kenny a margarita on stage before kissing him at one of his gigs.
The former lovers showed how serious they were about one another when they said “I do” in May, just one week later. According to Good Housekeeping, Kenny and Renée were married in a secret ceremony on a Virgin Islands beach. The country legend wore khaki-colored slacks, a white dress shirt, and his trademark cowboy hat while the Oscar winner wore a strapless, silk white gown.
Sadly, Renée filed for the annulment of their marriage in September, barely four months after they got married. The Jerry Maguire actress said to People that “the term ‘fraud,’ as specified in the papers, is purely legal terminology and not a reflection of Kenny’s character,” after listing “fraud” as the cause of their breakup.
Has Kenny been with anybody since then?
Given how secretive Kenny is with regard to his personal matters, he has done a commendable job of keeping his dating life discreet. Amy Colley, Miss Tennessee 2005, and Jenn Brown, an ESPN broadcaster, are among the women he is said to have had romantic relationships with since splitting up with Renée.
Before she wed her now ex-husband, Blake Shelton, in 2011, he was also thought to be dating Miranda Lambert, a fellow country music artist.
Kenny has had a few unsuccessful relationships in the past, but it seems that he is currently committed to Mary Nolan. The two reportedly started dating in 2012, according to Country Thang Daily. Over the years, Kenny and Mary have occasionally appeared in public together, but they generally prefer to keep their relationship private.
