Our idea of a superhero includes a suitable outfit, such as Iron Man’s, an excellent mode of transportation, such as Batman’s batmobile, and sophisticated science-obsessed antagonists, such as Dr. Octopus. How many often, on the other hand, do we include a manga character on our superhero lists?

What is the story behind Tiger and Bunny?

**Warning: There Will Be Spoilers**

The story takes place in a reimagined New York called Sternbild City, where the whole concept of “superheroes fighting supervillains and saving the city” is highly commercialized.

Let’s take a look at the city’s history. Some people began displaying superhuman talents 45 years ago, and because no one wants to miss an opportunity, some of them dressed up as superheroes. Major corporations entered the picture by sponsoring such superheroes, and their outfits and suits served as billboards for them.

Their ‘heroic deeds’ began to be filmed and broadcast on Hero TV. Points are awarded based on one’s efforts, and the hero with the most points at the end of the season is declared “King of Heroes.” The concept has been around for decades, and over that time, many heroes have risen to fame, while others have stayed underdogs.

The story of one such veteran hero, Kotestsu T. Kaburagi, also known as the Wild Tiger, is told in Tiger and Bunny. His popularity began to dwindle as he approached middle age and had a small daughter, despite the fact that he was still considerably younger than the other heroes. After his sponsor was revealed, he was matched up with Barnaby Brooks Jr, a new hero with identical skills to him, making them the first tag team ever.

However, none of them will find it simple, given their differing viewpoints on how a hero should conduct operations and exhibit oneself.
