“It feels weird for some reason”:Despite The Weeknd and Drake’s announcement that they won’t be attending the Grammys this year, the Canadian duo is still upset about being left out.

Drake and The Weeknd will once more not attend the Grammys. The Canadian rapper and singer have not yet submitted their music for consideration by the Grammys in 2023, according to reports.

The 65th Grammy Awards voting has begun, according to Pitchfork, but Drake and Weeknd’s music is not on the ballot.Their hit songs, such as “Sticky” and “Sacrifice,” which are eligible for awards in 2023, as well as their solo albums, such as Drake’s “Honestly,” “Nevermind,” and The Weeknd’s “Dawn FM,” were not included in the voting. The magazine says that their various collaborations with other vocalists frequently get them on the ballot.

The rationale behind Drake’s withdrawal from the Grammy nominations

After criticizing the academy a year ago for failing to include The Weeknd in their nominations, the rapper removed his name from the Grammys after the public responded positively to his album After Hours and single Blinding Lights.

At the time, the Breakaway singer said that they should stop being surprised every year by how important music awards don’t match up and accept the fact that what was once the highest form of recognition will soon no longer matter to musicians.

In a post on his Instagram account, he compared it to expecting a relative to alter their routine, only to have them never do so. He continued by stating that the present circumstances are ideal for starting something new that they can develop over time and pass on to subsequent generations.

In addition to winning the Grammy for a best rap song in 2019, Drake also took to the stage to criticize the ceremony, claiming that it was the first time in Grammy history that he was not who he thought he was.

The star of The Carter Effect sent a message to all of the people who were watching him and hoped to work in music. He stated that, in contrast to the NBA, where players are rewarded for making good decisions or winning games, they play an opinion-based sport.

Additionally, Drake stated that he is regarded as a hero in his hometown and that people succeed when they sing his songs word for word.

Twitter users responded to Drake’s decision news.

The public’s reactions to Drake’s decision to withdraw from the Grammy nominations have varied.

“Move the to the blockchain and give music fans the ability to choose their favorite artist!”Opnna, a Twitter user, responded.

Another participant stated, “If I had to guess, it would be to avoid the spotlight due to Travis Scott and the ridiculous cancel culture.”

“I don’t believe he was going to win with his current project,” another individual added. In any case, I don’t think many of the major artists anymore care about the Grammys. The entire procedure is shameful.

He is aware that getting him to the Grammys is all about getting him a seat to watch. At this point in his career, he’d rather someone else win

A commenter on Twitter said that Variety reported that the Toronto, Ontario native had previously refused to submit his album, More Life, in 2017 when JAY-Z failed to win any of the eight awards for which he had been nominated.
