This is an American sports drama television series which is created by April Blair. The series portrays the life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger.
The wins, losses, and struggles of two families are shown in the show from vastly different worlds which are Crenshaw and Beverly Hills which ultimately began to collide that are being inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger.

Daniel Ezra in the series acts as the promising student-athlete with big dreams of football stardom as he ultimately got recruited by Beverly Hills High. Four seasons come out with a total of 71 entries.
The series is inspired by the life of real-life NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger as part of Beverly Hills’ multicultural program. Greta Onieogou as Layla Keating, father as a producer refurbishes the locker rooms of the Rose Bowl as a home for UCLA Bruins.
In the series CW veteran, Greg Berlanti had two pilots in development as simultaneously inspired by the life of an NFL football player. There were also revelations that April Blair functioned as an executive producer that as a project with Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. A pilot for the series referred to as Spencer was ultimately ordered in January 2018.
The series proceeded as a way to portray on May 11, 2018, but Blair had to step down as showrunner due to personal reasons and was replaced with co-executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll. On October 8, 2018, The CW ordered five additional scripts for the series. It was announced that The CW had ordered an additional three episodes of the series that bought the first season total up to 16 episodes on November 8, 2018.
The series filming took place in Los Angeles, California, and was filmed during the first quarter with some parts in Thomas Jefferson High School in South Central Los Angeles.
The supporting characters include Layla, Jordan, Grace, and Coach Billy Baker that are likely to feature in season 5. Spencer James was offered a scholarship to Beverly Hills High School as the coach Billy Baker notices his ability to be at the top.
There is a dilemma as his mother and brother both ultimately want him to relocate while his friend Coop struggles with a cultural shift in lifestyles. After the struggle, Billy’s daughter Olivia seems to be more interested. After a few episodes, Spencer learns of boosters to watch him which leads to drinking a lot and he embarrasses himself during the game with the aim to tell Spencer the truth.
The series telecasted the fourth season which premiered on October 25, 2021. The series was renewed for a fifth season in March 2022. The fifth season is set to premiere on October 10, 2022.
