The Second Season of ‘the Outlaws’ Is Here, and It Looks Like the Show Might Be Even More Unruly This Time, Know What Is Happening?

The Outlaws, a crime comedy-drama, was a popular favourite at the end of 2021, and owing to filming the two series back-to-back, the wait for season two is almost over. The BBC One programme is the brainchild of Stephen Merchant, a comedian, writer, and actor who most recently featured as serial murderer Stephen Port in the dramatic real crime thriller Four Lives. This time, he portrays Greg, a depressed divorce lawyer who encounters an intriguing group of people while doing community service.

Season two of The Outlaws will air on BBC One on Sunday, June 5 at 9 p.m.

Season one had six episodes, and season two will have the same amount, for a total of six episodes to look forward to.

Each episode will last around an hour, with a new instalment airing every Sunday night.

The Outlaws season two finale will air on Sunday, July 10 if there are no changes to the BBC’s schedule. However, if you don’t want to wait that long to view the show, there is another option.

The full boxset will be made available on BBC One’s free streaming service BBC iPlayer as soon as the first episode airs. As a result, viewers will be able to binge-watch the whole second season anytime they want.

What exactly is it about?

The Outlaws is a criminal drama with a lighthearted tone. It’s about an odd group of people who get together after being forced to engage in a community payback project — they become entangled in a more intricate criminal world when they uncover a bag of money, ignorant of the dangerous people seeking for it.

The Dean — a notorious London drug dealer and gang boss – comes to Bristol to collect his lost money in Series 2, which takes off where Series 1 left off.

Who is in the cast?

Rani, played by Rhianne Barreto, is an Oxford candidate who is accused with theft. In addition to The Outlaws, Barreto has been in the ITV dramas Little Boy Blue and Honour, as well as the A24 film Share.

Gamba Cole plays Christian (in a sense), a young man who is responsible for his sister. Cole has previously acted in the films Guerilla, Soon Gone, and His House, as well as in the Amazon Prime Video drama Hanna with Barreto.

Frank, an American petty crook, is played by Christopher Walken. You might recognise Walken from films like Annie Hall and A View to a Kill, or from the Apple TV+ drama Severance. He’ll next be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s film The Emperor.

The Outlaws is written and directed by who?

The series was conceived by Elgin James and Stephen Merchant (The Office) (Mayans MC). Merchant also co-directs a few episodes with John Butler (Your Bad Self, Handsome Devil).
