We have plenty of time to think about potential stories with Blue Bloods season 13 set to premiere on CBS this autumn.
We’ve lately done a lot of research to highlight specific people and what they might be up to. For this piece, we’re going to concentrate on the entire cast. Is there a new antagonist who might appear later in the story? Isn’t it preferable if the writers came up with one? Because there is a considerable gap between that and a villain, we don’t believe this show will allow for a villain to emerge anytime soon.
Instead, the goal of this show is to ruffle some feathers and spark some debate among the Reagans. It’s a professional criminal who is ruining Danny’s, Jamie’s, and Frank’s lives. Or it may be a politician who ricochets into everyone in the family.
We believe that this is a show that might benefit from a few more threats, both those that bring the family together and those that separate them into distinct plotlines. This is because we already have enough of that, and it would be nice to have a force that could bring the Reagans together for three or four episodes. It would be naive to believe that after more than a dozen years, they would take a different course.
We use the term “adversary” since there is a significant difference between that and a villain, and we don’t believe this show will be bringing on a villain anytime soon. Instead, they want to ruffle a few feathers and stir up some controversy amongst the Reagans. We may see this play out in a variety of ways, such as a career criminal making life difficult for Danny, Jamie, and Frank. It might also be a politician trying to modify policing, which could have repercussions for everyone in the family.
Is Eddie’s tale going to take a full turn in that direction now that we’ve established that? For the time being, this is a great mystery, as the character is essentially at the mercy of the writers’ decisions. Will she be able to tell her own stories in this setting? We believe she isn’t getting a Sergeant promotion right now because she would be even more separated from Jamie than she already is — also, there is already a narrative involving a Sergeant on the show. They may wind up doing the same thing.
Still, we hope the writers understand the necessity of constantly evolving someone like Eddie—the last thing you want is for a character to stay in the same place for too long, causing storylines to become boring. While the chemistry between her and Badillo is intriguing, what else can you add to the plot in its current form to spice things up?
