P-Valley is an American drama series created by Katori hall. The opening theme “Down in the Valley “composed by Matthew Head represents authenticity. The series represents the lives of employees working at a strip club called The Pynk in the city of Mississippi in a fictional aspect.
The series premiered on July 12, 2020, and was renewed for a second season on July 27, 2020. The first season included tales of murder, fake identities, queer affairs, relationships, and large female rappers.
Now P-Valley is back with season 2 starring Shannon Thornton, Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, Elarica, Parker Sawyers, and J.Alphonse. Episode 2 starts as The Pynk staff prepares for their biggest night, Uncle Clifford reaches a personal milestone.
Creative expressive scenarios beat making wields the core element making it a subversive watch. Glam and Glitz are all about strip clubs but it does not bother masking it. DIY Pop-up version of the Pynk runs under the identity of a carwash called Pussyland. Black women with believable, complicated lives both in and out of the club. The series is awarded NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Guest Performance.
Among the four actresses who play pole dancers on “P-Valley”, Evans is the only one performing most of her stunts. This was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Stunts are still mind-bogglingly impressive.
The skillful and complex portrayal of strippers is commendable. Depth and characters had their uniqueness and the mysterious storyline is intriguing. The identification of real lives behind what they do for a living makes this show more authentic.
