Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez’s Locke & Key is coming to an end after three seasons. The show’s creative team approached Netflix with plans for two more runs, each consisting of 10 episodes followed by 8 ones – giving viewers plenty of material without leaving anyone hanging!
“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” Cuse and Averill said in a statement. “As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”
Netflix has not announced a release date for the final eight episodes of thirteen, but it’s expected that they will be released later this year.
The Keepers of the Keys have been hard at work since they were called upon by Netflix to finish eight more episodes for their final season. With post-production currently in progress, it is unknown when these new shows will go live but fans can expect them before year-end!
The series, Locke & Key has been a hit since it first aired in 2020. The show’s second season was announced with an order for three additional episodes and then later released on Netflix in December 2021 after filming had finished up entirely!
The children of the Locke family are now in possession of their father’s legacy, but they’ll have to fight for it. The mysterious demon that killed him has awakened and is determined not only to take what’s his own — even if it means killing them all!
The third season of Locke and Key will introduce a cast that includes Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup as well as Emilia Jones. Jackson Robert Scott has been announced for the show’s new line-up!
