It is understandable that you would desire additional content given the relative dearth of programming that is currently being broadcast tonight. Think about it: unless you watch Stranger Things or Obi-Wan Kenobi (and we realize that may be a large number of you), there isn’t a lot of scripted programming this weekend. We understand that this may be the case for many of you. There is also the opportunity to watch the NBA Playoffs or another episode of The Time Traveler’s Wife, both of which are broadcast on HBO, as might be expected.
Listings have unfortunately confirmed that you will not be able to watch an episode of Last Week Tonight this weekend; nevertheless, this news should not come as much of a surprise. There are a lot of individuals out there for whom the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend is the same as any other Saturday, and television networks often do not want to schedule a lot of programming on Saturdays. Since there is one scheduled for the time being for the following Sunday (5 June), at least we aren’t going to be absent for an exceptionally extended period of time this time around.
When the show DOES return, all we can do is hope that the writers have something up their sleeves that is as as unexpected and/or hilarious as the piece they did on Subway the previous week. It’s one that caught us completely off guard as viewers; despite the fact that it’s one of the largest restaurant chains in the entire globe, we haven’t given any thought to the sandwich shop in a very long time. If you aren’t completely up to date on the programme, this will be a really interesting watch for you.
In addition to the episode that will air the following week, we can reasonably presume that you will be able to view at least a few more episodes over the course of the summer. In not too much longer, there will be a larger break, but you shouldn’t worry about it just yet. For the time being, there won’t be any significant changes.
