Is the Season Premiere of Saturday Night Live Scheduled for October/november 2022?

Saturday Night Live is an American late-night show. It is a live television show. It is created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol.

The show is hosted by NBC. The show was started on 11th October 1975. Since then it is produced every year. Till now it has successfully streamed 47 Seasons. Now it’s time for the 48th season. In between different rumors and news about the cast members we are going to see the expected date of the release of the 48th Season.

What will make SNL Season 48 very different?

This season we are going to see big changes. This season has lost its key cast members like Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson. We have seen cast stability in previous episodes and with this in mind, we can estimate that this time we are going to see big changes.

Out of these people leaving the show, we still have some great personalities like Heidi Gardner and Bowen Yang. They will carry the trend of ‘Saturday Night Live’ forward. But it is the sole responsibility of Lorne Michaels and his team to find out a replacement for the same, yet the show remains interesting at the same level.

For the expected date of release of season 48, we are going to see SNL most probably by September end or early October of this year. NBC doesn’t tend to deviate much with its show release date.

This time it is a big chance that we are going to witness a host who had worked in hit films or is in the limelight. This is necessary for a show’s return, especially for a show which is going to include some new cast members coming on board.

Michael Che who is co-head writer and anchor along with Lorne Michaels who is SNL creator once talked to The New York Times. And in this interview, Michael spoke about the year of change ahead. So, this may mean that Che’s name is also there on the cast member departing list.

Michael Che has joined SNL in 2013. Che had admitted that he wanted to leave Saturday Night Live since the last five years. Che feels that the show is made for the younger voices and at some point of time there will be something more exciting to watch than him. But out of this rumor and breaking news of leaving the show, he had dismissed all these claims.

During a tour of the backstage of Saturday Night Live, the creator has revealed that he is willing to retire from his post. But he is waiting for the show’s milestone. Once the show reaches its 50 seasons then it would be the right time to take retirement.

  1. Michaels exclaimed that he did not want the show to ever be bad. He has spent whole his life making this show successful. This show is his life’s work. So he is going to do everything to make sure that everything carries well after his departure.
