This Sarin Gas is very much deadlier as claimed by OA because he has experience of that in his life. Luckily they were able to track down the person and was able to kill him. Maggie got trapped in a room where the gas was released and she was not in a good condition. The episode ends with both of them in the hospital, while she is on the path of recovery. In the finishing moments, OA has a deep conversation with Maggie about her need for her to solve the case.
The current scenario is quite curious as the Maggie part has been written off from the storyline. Though some reports claimed that she will be back in the early season of episode 5. Long term gap or future will not be questioned in any way. So now it’s very much clear that She is taking a parental leave not a suspended one.

Maggie Bell has always been the lead in fighting with the villains and bringing them back to the office for justice light. To that question, the company official claimed that she has been released for the time being as she is looking for a new opportunity offered to her and she is also looking for a promotion leaving behind the current job.
