Even though viewers of Billions may not have decided whether or not they like Axe’s replacement Prince yet, it seems that Showtime is a fan of the character. On Tuesday, the cable provider made the announcement that it has given the business drama another season.
Star After the conclusion of the fifth season of Billions, Damian Lewis, who played Bobby “Axe” Axelrod, left the show. His role on the show was taken over by Corey Stoll, whose character Mike Prince bought his investment firm and became the boss of the company. To complete the transaction and establish himself as Paul Giamatti’s new adversary, Prince also deceived Chuck Rhoades, who played the role of the Attorney General.
Chuck has made it his life’s mission as of late to destroy Prince’s business dealings. The show is currently in its sixth season and airs on Showtime on Sundays at 9 p.m. and 8 p.m. central time. This includes preventing Prince from carrying out his ambitions to bring the Olympics to New York. Fans saw on Sunday’s episode that Prince is no pushover, and they also saw that he is not above snatching away Chuck’s closest allies and confidants. This shows that Prince is not above anything.
Wags, once Axe’s second-in-command and played by David Costabile, is now working for Prince as part of the new government, and he has gradually become the best of friends with Scooter, who was formerly played by Daniel Breaker. Because of his role as Prince’s second fiddle, the Girls 5Eva costar was promoted to series regular for the sixth season of the show.
A number of Prince’s former Axe team members, including Wendy (played by Maggie Siff), Taylor (played by Asia Kate Dillon), Ben Kim (played by Daniel Isaac), Mafee (played by Dan Soder), and “Dollar” Bill (played by Kelly AuCoin), are assisting him in his mission to bring the games to New York City at his behest.
Will Prince and his new super team find a way to beat Chuck, or will Chuck, who is going after all of New York’s one-percenters, finally get the victory he so desperately craves? Prince and his new super team are working hard to find a solution to this problem.
