On Wednesday, Remedy Entertainment finally revealed that they are making the iconic Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne with Rockstar Games. Now the old-school gamers are pretty excited about this new revelation. After Max Payne 3 the game was not remade for the players. But now finally Max Payne will be back for its fans.
Max Payne 1 and 2 will be combined in one title in the new release. This game will be available for the players on PC, PS5, and XBOX series X/S. Max Payne 1 was launched on 25th July 2001. And Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was launched on 14th October 2003.
So you can guess the oldness of these games. Max Payne is a shooter game. It is a neo-noir third-person shooter game. The game is named after its protagonist Max Pyne, a New York Police detective. Max Pyne turns into a shooter after his family was killed by some drug addicts.
Till 2011 almost 7.5 million copies of this game have been sold around the world. So it’s no doubt that many people still love this game. Last year Remedy Entertainments celebrated this game’s 20 years. Because of its anniversary, the developers released a youtube video of this game.
The Release Date and new updates:
Remedy Entertainment is going to make an agreement with Rockstar Games. They will make Max Pyne 1 and 2 games together. During a press conference, The C.E.O of Remedy Entertainment, Tero Virtala stated, “Max Pyne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy”.
He also said that the company knows Max Pyne fans around the world feel the same. So that’s why they have decided to recreate the game for the players.
Remedy Entertainment is pretty excited to work with Rockstar Games once again. Rockstar Games will bear the game’s development budget. Therefore the budget of the game will “be in line with a typical Remedy AAA-game production”.
Therefore, Rockstar Games will give Remedy Entertainment a “Royalty Payment” after the game’s release. Rockstar Games are bearing the cost of the development, and marketing cost of the game.
Moreover, the game is right now in the concept development stage. In the game, Remedy is using the Northlight game engine for its development. Before this game, they have used this engine for Control and Quantum Break. Because the game is at the concept development stage the release date of the game is not been announced yet.
Therefore, Max Pyne 1 & 2 will be launched as a single title. Gamers are eager for the game launch. However, we hope that this game will be technical issue free after release unlike GTA: The Trilogy: The Definite Edition. Though Rockstar Games has updated the game.
