Loki Finale Theory Reveals a Shocking Doctor Strange 2 Cameo

The Loki Season 1 finale is expected to premiere next week, so viewers won’t have to wait long to learn the truth behind the series’ biggest enigma.

According to one idea, the TVA’s leader may not be who most fans think, but rather someone who has been conspicuously absent from nearly all Loki discussion in recent weeks.

THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN – Most Loki fans seem to agree that the TVA leader will either be Kang the Conqueror or an evil Loki variation we have yet to encounter.

The various Kang-related Easter eggs in the Disney+ show have lead viewers to believe Kang is the TVA’s formidable villain, while the show’s fundamental themes of identity suggest otherwise.

The various Kang-related Easter eggs in the Disney+ show have led fans to believe Kang is the powerful villain behind the TVA, while the series’ major themes of identity suggest Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) will meet their worst possible selves at the show’s conclusion. Both candidates, to be honest, would benefit Loki’s story up to this point.

TikTok user @lyanamacaluso, on the other hand, believes that the TVA’s chief is none other than Baron Mordo.

PLANS BY MORDO — Baron Mordo, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Doctor Strange, when he served as a close mentor and ally to Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) before turning against him in the final minutes of the film.

Mordo hasn’t been seen since his malevolent entrance in the Doctor Strange post-credits scene, but he’ll be back in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will be released next year. With that in mind, Marvel could do well to remind casual MCU viewers who Mordo is prior to his participation in that film.

It wouldn’t be out of character for Mordo to create and head the TVA.

Mordo is defined in Doctor Strange by his rigid commitment to the laws of reality and sorcery. When he discovers that Strange and The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) have both interfered with time travel, he turns against them and abandons his fellow sorcerers in order to relieve himself of what he perceives as their crimes against reality.

Later in the film, in the post-credits sequence, he declares that the world has “too many sorcerers” and resolves to personally address the issue.

All of this is to imply that Mordo’s creation of the TVA — an organization dedicated to preserving rigorous order throughout the multiverse — fits in perfectly with his entire image. Even Mordo’s parting remark in Doctor Strange (“The bill comes due.”) makes sense, as @lyanamacaluso points out. Always. I’ll do it.
