It has been a long wait by PlayStation fans for Sony to tackle Microsoft’s Project Scorpio, a console that could run content and games at 4k. Both companies have confirmed in a fashion that both consoles are in development, but are still awaiting an official release date. Microsoft revealed that Project Scorpio will be in stores next year. However, looks like Sony is taking a sharp turn here, hinting the release of their next console.
Sony is holding a meeting on the 7th of September which is a date which a French website suggested, could be the reveal of the next Sony console. According to Polygon, they have confirmed that Sony will actually have a live stream of the event on the 7th of September which naturally hints the meeting of the Playstation 4. Members of the Press are already receiving invites to attend the event which is being held in New York City.
It’s pretty much expected for Sony to reveal the details or even the console itself. The new console is touted to pack much more horsepower, run much stabler frame rates, 4k playback and actual 4k gaming along with their exclusive PlayStation VR Headset. While Microsoft confirmed at E3 that Project Scorpio will be arriving next year, this could be an early move from Sony.
The Live Stream will be live at different sources on 15:00PM ET (20:00PM BST). We’d recommend you to check out Push Square’s own live stream which they’ll be providing all the info from the event.
