The first Xbox Series X upgrade has supposedly been revealed, although the next modification is minor. Console makers alter the design of their consoles throughout a console generation with one purpose in mind: lowering production costs. Microsoft, like its competitors, does not generate a lot of money from hardware.
In fact, it frequently loses money during the first several years of a console generation. On the software side, console manufacturers gain money. Every game sold on an Xbox Series X earns Microsoft a share. While the real money isn’t in hardware, it doesn’t imply a system is finished once it’s released.

Wherever there is money to be saved, money will be saved, which is why consoles are always undergoing minor tweaks, such as the one revealed by the aforementioned article.

The fresh revelation comes from Xbox insider and writer Brad Sams, who recently revealed in a video that Microsoft is working on a modification of the console’s processor. Unfortunately, it appears that these chip changes will not increase performance and will just lower production costs.
“I believe this is correct… “I know Microsoft was working on chip modifications,” Sams explained. “Are we going to witness performance increases, or will we see something else?” I don’t think so, but Microsoft is continuously focusing on producing cooler, more efficient CPUs since it decreases production costs.”
This is all Sams has revealed about the situation. There’s no news on what’s happening, but this is the kind of modification Microsoft is unlikely to publish, so it’ll be up to people who disassemble and dissect devices to uncover it when and if it happens.
We don’t know when the next genuine Xbox upgrade will take place. According to many rumors, the next Xbox system isn’t far away from being announced, although it’s unclear if this will be a version of the Xbox Series X or something altogether new.
It’s not going to be the next traditional Xbox platform, but there are rumblings that it may be a streaming-focused device.
Of course, the difficulty with selling a new version of the Xbox Series X or another machine completely is that manufacturing is still constrained by microprocessor shortages, production delays, and shipping concerns.
