Two companies have reached settlements over patent infringement charges, with one allegedly infringing on a design belonging to the other.
In a move that should help Apple gain access to new technologies and intellectual property, the company has settled its long-running dispute with patent licensing firm WiLAN. The agreement will allow for increased sharing of crucial research data from inventions made at such firms as Texas A&M University’s engineering school where many grants have come from over recent years including one on designing faster wireless charging systems!
WiLAN, which is a company specializing in the development and sale of technologies related to mobile communications has been involved with several disputes against Apple since they introduced their first iPhone.
In this instance, WiLAN alleged that the iPhone 5 and 6 infringed its intellectual property relating to the 4G standard – which was first introduced by LTE.

In 2018, WiLAN emerged victorious in the courts after winning a ruling that Apple must pay $145 million to settle claims.
The dispute between Apple and Samsung finally came to an end after their long court case where they had been fighting over patent infringement. The final ruling favored the latter, ordering them to pay $85 million in damages
The court has now set a date for Linn’s new trial, and they have also called for one in which all three patents will be decided.
Broadcom’s wireless communication chips are used in smartphones and other devices like smartwatches, IoT sensors, or home appliances. The company has been one of Apple’s biggest customers for years, providing them with custom processors that allow their products to connect wirelessly without using any cables at all!
The two companies have finally agreed after years of litigation. Whether or not this means the battle is over remains unclear, but at least we can stop hearing about it for now!
The parent company of WiLAN, Quarterhill announced that they have reached an agreement with Apple to settle all litigation pending between them. The terms include dismissal for $4 million in legal fees and other expenses incurred by Polaris since April 2017 when their first suit against Cupertino was filed across international borders.”
The mobile industry is not a peaceful one. Disputes between vendors and patent holders are common, with causes ranging from infringement to an incorrect calculation of royalties that can be difficult for some companies in this space who often rely on these numbers being fair (or at least close) when it comes down to them paying out promised payments based off their agreements made before starting up a business
