The long-awaited Marilyn Monroe biopic has finally been given an NC-17 rating. The streaming service Netflix announced that the upcoming film starring Ana de Armas as their iconic beauty, Blonde; it’s earned this high certificate from MPAA due to sexual content regarded as being suitable only for adults over 18 years old–the first time such a thing happened in history!
The last several years have seen a trend of NC-17 rated films being released, such as Midsommar and Wrong Turn. However, Netflix is going against this by giving Blonde an unrated cut; it will be their first mainstream movie with one since The Kings Man came out in 2010
