Lost Ark had a hugely successful start in the West, with well over 1 million concurrent players daily. However, the sheer amount of gamers attempting to access the MMORPG has resulted in high queue times and instability in certain countries. Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games reacted quickly to these concerns by expanding server capacity, giving players in-game prizes, and introducing a new server area. That area, Europe West, has only recently been available for Lost Ark gamers to join.
Long lines wreaked the most havoc in Europe’s Central area. As a result, new players and those wishing to create new characters will be delighted by the addition of another area to the continent. Smilegate and Amazon did caution in their announcement of the new region’s debut that it is intended to reduce, rather than eliminate, queue times on Europe Central.

Amazon’s Lost Ark free-to-play MMO skyrocketed in popularity after its introduction earlier this month in Europe and the Americas. Only a week after its release, it became Steam’s most-played MMO ever, and gamers in Europe had to cope with long lines even before that. Smilegate (the game’s creator) and Amazon have launched “Europe West” in an attempt to remedy the problem. However, it is an entirely new server location designed for new players, and those who are currently playing in “Europe Central” may continue to have high wait times.
The Europe Central area is at capacity, and regretfully, there is no plan to increase the number of players in line with worldwide in Europe Central, the company’s most recent notice about the situation noted. It appears to be impossible to add further servers to the region “according to the intricacy of the complete ways that want to work together. Amazon and the developer are pitching Europe West as an intriguing prospect for those who haven’t made much progress in Central yet because switching server zones isn’t feasible right now.
The server switch service has only been pushed out in Korea, where the game was initially released in 2019, and it requires the developer to process transfers in weekly batches. It also does not create stronger area transfers and may not benefit Ecu players in its current form, but the companies declared they “would not rest until [they’ve] exhausted all options.”
While this is unfortunate for Ecu players, it is a significant disadvantage for Amazon. After evaluating feedback from a closed test, it decided to discontinue Crucible, the free-to-play shooter it had been developing since 2016. It’s New World MMO was a hit in 2021, but the response for the older game wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as that of Misplaced Ark.
Lost Ark is a top-down, free-to-play MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) in the manner of the legendary Diablo games developed by Smilegate. Players enter the huge, fictitious world of Arkesia and are free to explore the seven continents and oceans, learning about the in-game civilization, fighting mythological animals, and searching for forgotten riches.
Players may design their personalized character by selecting from 15 classes – including looks, weapons, talents, and more – and then collaborate with others online to fulfill objectives. The game was first published in December 2019, however, it was restricted to some territories such as Russia and Japan. Seeing the continuous increase, Amazon Games bought the rights and launched it in the west, bringing the total player count to 1.3 million last week.
Lost Ark is the second most played game on Steam, although it is presently unavailable in India.
