The clip from a 22-year old episode of WWE SmackDown in which The Rock makes an insensitive speech about the Chinese has resurfaced.
Come with me on a journey through the past, all the way back to an episode of SmackDown that was taped nearly 18 years ago. This show featured then-WWF Champion The Rock and Mick FoleyBrilliant! I’m sure you’ll agree this is one instance where clarity was needed more than ever before–so let’s get ready for some history!!
There’s a clip from this segment doing the rounds on social media, where The Rock is seen “speaking Chinese.” Of course, he isn’t speaking any form of Chinese; it’s just gibberish and pretends so poorly done to be culturally insensitive at best.
The Rock is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, but he’s not afraid to go against what people think. He recently did something that many other celebrities would never do- apologize for using an offensive word on live television!
The cable sports show”Joe Rogan Experience” featured several episodes where The Roots actor apologized after raising racial epithets during his talk shows back when they were first released online years ago…
The Rock’s recent actions have been called into question by many, including those who were already upset about his podcasting habits. The Chinese man-of Steel recently came under fire after he shared misinformation on COVID 19 and the pandemic it caused during an episode of fighting sports legend Rogan’sHLN show last week – but don’t forget how The Reign used to voice support for this same individual!
The Daily Mail published a clip of actor Dwayne Johnson using the n-word on TV earlier this week, which led to author Don Winslow calling him out for it. The Rock has since apologized and said that he never meant for his statement about Rogan’s controversy “to upset or harm anyone whatsoever.”
“It’s really sad to see how many people worship at the altar of Joe Rogan. You’re a hero for so many and using your platform to defend him after he used an epithet dozens upon times is just terrible,” Winslow tweeted.
The Rock’s response to Winslow seemed to be a 180 from his initial stance, where he supported Rogan and said that “everyone here 100%” was not aware of the N-word use. After learning more about him through social media posts – including an apology video in which The Miz seems Photoshopped into place next-to quotes defending himself against claims made by members of black Hollywood–the actor finally weighs on Twitter with regards: ‘Thank You So Much For This I Hear You As Well
With a reputation for being one of the most beloved and altruistic movie stars on this planet, The Rock has earned an abundance of goodwill as well. His PR team will be working late tonight though because there are still some offensive moments from his past that could end up costing him everything in terms of entertainment career-wise but he’s too nice to say no when you ask nicely!
