The entire schedule of artists for the MelOn Music Awards 2021 (MMA 2021) has been unveiled! MSG Wannabe (M.O.M) from ‘How Do You Play?’ TXT, THE BOYZ, ENHYPEN, Brave Girls, and STAYC will play at the event, in addition to the already announced IU, Heize, Lee Mujin, and Lim Young Woong.
When and Where to Watch MelOn MA 2021?
MelOn Music Awards 2021 will be televised live on 1theK’s YouTube page on December 4 at 6 p.m. KST (2:30 p.m. IST). A pre-show event named ‘MMA The Record’ will take place for an hour before the main event at 6 p.m.
Park Sun Young and comedian Lee Yong Jin will analyze this year’s MelOn chart, reveal the Top 10 awards, predict additional category winners, and preview some of the performances fans may expect. Kakao TV, MelOn’s website and app, and 1theK’s YouTube channel will all broadcast MMA 2021 live online. The MelOn Music Awards 2021 will be broadcast on December 4 at 6 p.m. KST (5 am ET).
Categories in MMA 2021?
Last month, the candidates for the 20 categories were unveiled. Alongside Top 10, the contender list for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year were published. Voting for the Top 20, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Netizen Popularity Award is now open.

While 60% of votes will be counted to determine the Netizen Popularity Award winners, only 20% of votes will be counted for the Top 10, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
MelOn Music Award Award Criterion
MelOn has also announced the criteria for receiving an award. On the MelOn app, Korean fans or anyone with a confirmed MelOn account may vote for their favorite nominees. Anyone with a Kakao or MelOn account can vote on MelOn’s website for the ‘Legends Stage.’
IU at MelOn 2021
After releasing “Palette” and “A Flower Bookmark 2” the same year, IU received Best Album of the Year, Best Song Writer Award, and Top 10 Artists at the Melon Music Awards in 2017. She also moved audiences with her performance of “Dear Name” with a choir of around 60 individuals who aspire to be artists.
IU will perform at this year’s MMA with the theme “a door linking the end of her 20s to the beginning of her 30s.” She will be singing her new song “strawberry moon” live for the first time with an eight-piece band.
“The entire tale will suit the story of artist IU, so it’ll feel like you’ve come to an IU performance,” a Melon insider said.
