Xiaomi’s New Mi MiX 3 Slated To Debut On October The 25th

Xiaomi is about to release the Mi MiX 3 later his month. After months of rumors, Xiaomi has officially confirmed through Weibo that Xiaomi would be announcing the Mi MiX 3 on October the 25th, later this month featuring minor improvements to its existing body as well as a hint of 5G connectivity.

Leaks regarding Xiaomi’s Mi MiX 3 have been vague so far. Leaks that sprung up months ago suggesting that the Mi MiX 3 from Xiaomi could actually feature a pop-up camera as well in an effort to eliminate the chin of the Mi MiX. Leaks went as far as to suggest that Xiaomi could feature a pop-up camera sensor for the same reason.

For those who have been following Xiaomi’s exponential growth, there’s no doubt that Xiaomi was the first to rejuvenate the bezel-less trend following the announcement of the Sharp Aquos Crystal from 2014. Since then, Xiaomi has kick-started a generation-wide long series of trends that valued screen-to-body ratios over display sizes. We saw Samsung move away from the traditional look of the S7 to the so-called Infinity Display on the S8 and Note 8.

Apart from the whole bezel-less point, the star of the show would be the Mi MiX 3’s 5G capabilities. With 5G poised to take over 4G, Xiaomi would be among the first companies to launch a smartphone with 5G capabilities. There’s definitely a ton of responsibilities and issues to be addressed with the Mi MiX 3. However, it seems like the 5G tease would most likely be true given that leakster, Ice Universe, has tipped off the device for featuring 5G connectivity.

On the inside, we’re expecting Xiaomi to house some beastly specs as they’ve traditionally done. The Mi MiX 3 would most likely pack a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6/8GB RAM, a 4000mAh battery and support for wireless charging.

Regarding pricing, the Mi MiX 3 would be succeeding the Mi MiX 2 and Mi MiX 2S that are still in stores for retail. Since the Mi MiX would be replacing them, we’d expect Xiaomi to attach a $599-699 price tag to the Mi MiX 3 given how they’ve prices previous Mi MiX devices in the past.
