AMD has had an amazing launch with their Ryzen 7 CPUs. After being well recieved by most of the PC community AMD filled in the press with more details regarding their lineup of Ryzen 5 CPUs.
Last week, many reports claimed that retailers have actually started selling Ryzen 5 CPUs in South America. AMD’s Ryzen 5 CPUs lineup consists of 5 SKUs, ranging from $169 to $249. AMD’s Ryzen 5 1400 is on the bottom of the list of CPUs and comes with a $169 price tag. Considering how well and cheap AMD motherboards are being bundled, AMD definitely has a lead when it comes to fulfilling price brackets.
A Youtuber by the name of Santiago is among the few lucky users who actually managed to get these Ryzen CPUs by a local dealer in Uruguay. Now Santiago has been publishing benchmarks and comparisons for quite a while now. And after receiving his Ryzen 5 1400 CPU it was certain he would put it to work.
Soon after picking up his Ryzen 5 CPU he took it to Youtube and unboxed the Ryzen 5 1400 Processor
After spending some time with the Ryzen 5 1400 he finally published some performance numbers today by pairing the 1400 with an RX480 and pitting it against Intel’s lineup of CPUs, the G4560 and i5 7400.
The user managed to overclock the Ryzen 5 1400 to 3.8Ghz with all 4 cores and 8 threads enabled. To be able to pull this off the user actually tested and overclocked the 1400 with the stock Wraith Stealth cooler that comes bundled with the 1400.
The benchmarks were definitely in Intel’s favour as expected for most of the part. But it’s still an impressive CPU even after taking the G4560 into the mix.
Very nice…..Very nice indeed…!
At most I see a 10fps difference from the i5 to the 3.8ghz 1400. Considering the price and the extra core’s and threads you get the i3 and i5 lineup is now obsolete.
