Dragonflight Lowers the Great Vault Requirements for All Game Modes in World of Warcraft. Here’s why

World of Warcraft players will be able to maximize their Great Vault rewards with significantly less effort starting with Dragonflight.

In Dragonflight, some of the requirements for the Great Vault, which is the primary source of weekly guaranteed loot in World of Warcraft, are being relaxed. One of the first steps Blizzard took to eliminate player reliance on luck to acquire gear was the introduction of Badges of Justice in The Burning Crusade.

Loot acquisition in World of Warcraft has changed dramatically over time. The Great Vault is a far cry from this idea in that it lets players earn loot at the end of each week. However, unlike the badges, emblems, and valor points of the past, it only gives players a limited chance to target a specific loot.

The Great Vault is an improvement over Legion’s and Battle for Azeroth’s weekly chests, despite its flaws. Dragonflight maintains the format introduced in Shadowlands and refined throughout its patches while further developing the concept. In addition, the item levels of the Mythic dungeon rewards in Dragonflight’s Great Vault have been raised, enabling players who are uninterested in World of Warcraft’s raiding scene to obtain a dungeon equivalent to some of the game’s finest loot.

World of Warcraft players will no longer need to complete ten Mythic Dungeons or defeat ten Raid Bosses each week to get the most out of their Great Vault starting with Dragonflight.

The requirements to cap one’s Great Vault have been further reduced, continuing the trend that began with Season 4 of Shadowlands. In Dragonflight, players will only need six Raid Bosses and eight Mythic Dungeons to get the most out of their PvE rewards compared to Shadowlands at launch. In addition, to reach all three milestones for the week, PvP Only 5000 Honor from Rated Battlegrounds and Arena will be required of players.

Since many consider this change to be a step in the right direction, there has been a consensus of support in the community thus far. The Great Vault in Dragonflight aims to accommodate World of Warcraft players who do not have the time to fully clear raids or complete a dozen high-level keystone dungeons with friends.

Although the Great Vault continues to be subject to the arbitrary nature of a random roll that determines the weekly loot it gives to players, the new system will at least give more players six options from which to choose now that they are easier to obtain. On December 12, Dragonflight’s Mythic Keystone Dungeons and the first raid, Vault of the Incarnates, will become available. At that time, players will be able to begin receiving brand-new rewards from the Great Vault in Valdrakken.
