The wait for additional details about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has begun. There have only been three trailers for the game so far, and fans know very little. According to footage comparisons, Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule appears to be substantially unaltered, but the terrain is full of new features as changes occur above and below Hyrule’s surface.
In the upcoming six months, there should be plenty more coverage on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but in the meantime, fans are left in the dark about what this new open-world Zelda will involve.
The fate of numerous characters besides Link, Zelda, and presumably Ganondorf is one of the many unresolved topics. Since Breath of the Wild, an unspecified amount of time has passed, and the people of Hyrule have undoubtedly observed that another otherworldly disaster has hit.
Again interacting with the four new Champions, Link is likely to reflect on the past or converse with the ghosts of the former Champions. Whatever the case, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has the opportunity to fully bring back a classic Zelda companion staple. The now-established hero won’t be fighting alone.
Throughout the franchise, Link has been joined by traveling buddies
For a very long time, buddies have been a part of the Zelda games. The first occurrence might have occurred in A Link to the Past when Link had to travel with other individuals, including Zelda. In Ocarina of Time, the fairy Navi makes her series debut as the first recurring character.
Link received Navi as a gift from the Great Deku Tree to commemorate his coming of age, and she has since grown to be an important character in both the story and the gameplay. She acts as a lock-on marker and a point of interest signal. She can give Link advice on his adversaries and his next move. Despite how annoying Navi’s attention-seeking speech snippets might be.
After that, companions evolved into many shapes. Some, like Midna, Ezlo, and Fi, had different mechanical functions in addition to acting as similar gameplay guides. Others were primarily concerned with transportation, such as Linebeck and the King of the Red Lions.
Other fairies, obviously influenced by Navi, appeared as well, including Titel from Majora’s Mask and the player’s avatar in Phantom Hourglass. In Spirit Tracks, Princess Zelda herself becomes a playable character.
Breath of the Wild Mostly Removed Companions
This has changed since Breath of the Wild. With Zelda only occasionally conversing with him, Link was left without a consistent friend. To further emphasize the unfettered freedom that Breath of the Wild promotes, Link and the player are otherwise left to their own devices. The game’s entire portrayal suffers as a result, too. The only time Link will see any of the descendants of the Champions is when they help him sneak into each Divine Beast.
Only through animal companions may The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s lonely ambiance be broken up at the player’s discretion. Horses can be tamed, given a name, and used for travel, but they can also pass away and be replaced.
As an alternative, Wolf Link himself can be called a more constant companion if the user has a Wolf Link amiibo. It would be good to see Tears of the Kingdom incorporate NPC traveling companions because this approach is intriguing. Wolf Link needs to be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD because he isn’t very powerful. Players frequently found themselves traveling alone as a result of these uncomfortable circumstances.
