What’s the Story of This TV Show?
Starring Forest Whitaker, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Giancarlo Esposito, Lucy Fry, Rafi Gavron, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Erik LaRay Harvey, and Demi Singleton, the Godfather of Harlem TV series airs on the EPIX cable channel. The series is based on the true story of notorious crime lord Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who served 10 years in jail before being released to find his former neighbourhood in ruins. When the Italian mafia takes over the streets, Johnson must fight the Genovese crime family to reclaim control. Johnson fights the New York Crime Families for control of the deadly and profitable “French Connection” heroin pipeline in season two with an ambitious strategy. This puts him up against his friends, family, the law, and Italians.
Is Godfather of Harlem Season 3 Really on the Way?
In August 2021, bumpy John was last observed plaguing the city with crime. Fans are glued to their televisions in anticipation of a return of the show, which has been off the air for more than a year.
You’ll be happy to know that this is true because the program was already renewed in January of this year as a result of the unexpectedly positive reception to the previous season. Season 2 set records for single-day viewing thanks to some wacky viewing percentages.

Expected Plot and Storyline
We now know the season 3 storyline and a confirmed premiere date.
The 10-episode third season will reportedly feature Bumpy continuing his conflict with the nearby Spanish Harlem Cuban Mafia for control of Harlem.
Bumpy, his loved ones, and his community will be in the sights of the DEA agents aiming to expand their presence in Harlem due to the Cuban mob’s fight and the competing Italian mafia.
