We Own This City is a miniseries based on Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton’s book of the same name. It examines the emergence and demise of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force, as well as the social problems that led to it, such as corruption. It recounts the life of Sergeant Wayne Jenkins, who is one of the eight cops who were found guilty of numerous corruption allegations. With many flashbacks, the story gives us the narrative.

We Own This City was originally intended to be a miniseries, which means there will be no second season. In addition, the series is a narrative that tells us about real-life events that have already occurred. For the second season, there isn’t much to share. As a result, there is a slim likelihood that the show will be revived for a second season.

The first season may be considered as the conclusion of Simon’s The Wire plot, but that does not rule out the possibility of future seasons. The series’ entire premise was based on the assumption that the drug war was never-ending. If the show returns for a second season, we might see more storylines set in Baltimore that continue to explore corruption and other bad behaviours. Just though the offenders were put behind bars in the first season doesn’t mean there aren’t more out there. So, this may be the plot of Season 2 of We Own This City.
