‘it Felt Like Throwing Up,’ Lauren Cohan Says of Having to Say That Walking Deadline to Negan.

Maggie Rhee has gone through a lot already, hasn’t she? This poor lady! And The Walking Dead’s midseason finale on Sunday was just another reminder of the difficult time the Hilltop commander has had on the show.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) was apprehended by her old foe Leah (Lynn Collins), who was seeking vengeance for Maggie’s murder of several Reapers… which was also done for vengeance. People, revenge is a never-ending cycle!

Leah, on the other hand, didn’t simply want to kill Maggie; she also wanted to torture her. (Showrunner Angela Kang revealed just what Leah had planned for Maggie, and it wasn’t pretty.)

When Maggie was given an opportunity, she seized it, resulting in a massive brawl between the two women that ended with Leah’s murder after Daryl (Norman Reedus) gunned down his ex-girlfriend.

That was not, however, the most surprising Maggie scene of the episode for fans of the programme. Maggie did this when she asked Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to keep an eye on her son Hershel.

Negan, the same one who assassinated her husband and Hershel’s father. As Negan pointed out, “”He doesn’t trust me entirely,” Maggie said, “but I’m beginning to.” At Riverbend, you rescued him. That is something I will never forget, no matter what else occurs or has happened.”

Lauren Cohan’s Statement:

I understand. It felt like I was about to puke. It just happened to come at a moment when I needed to depart. I was adamant about not allowing anyone to accompany me. And I knew I couldn’t leave Hershel anywhere but with them.

And I say “them” because I believe Maggie is aware of Negan’s protective qualities toward young people and that he has evolved.

None of this has any effect on how she feels. It simply indicates that she has enough information to make this difficult but important decision right now. But it’s mostly bolstered by the passage of time and her instincts about Annie [Medina Senghore] – both Annie and the person Negan might be linked to.

I, on the other hand, despised it. “I guess the reason I despise this is also why she despises it,” I said. Maggie is the “her.” It’s as though “Ugh, here is where we are, and this is what we are doing, but I’m going alone, and I have to finish this, and you have to look after my child. And you’re the greatest guy for the job right now.”

He’s not going to be alone with him, you know. I feel like I’m just rationalizing everything, but it’s the truth. That moment is, without a doubt, monumental.

I hate to admit it, but everything revolves around this moment. I don’t mind saying it, but I despise it for Negan’s sake.
