Aside from Will and Chris’ problems, Amy’s big night seemed to go through without a hitch, but she was compelled to explain one joke to irritated fans.

As she sat just beside her husband Jesse Plemons at the ceremony on Sunday, the 40-year-old comedian taunted the actress, calling her a “seat-filler.”

“Hey, I appreciate the love for Kirsten Dunst,”

she commented on Instagram in response to some fan criticism.

“I adore her as well!”

The comedienne also talked about the process of getting ready for Oscar’s red carpet.

Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall were also shouted at by Amy.

‘She was putting together a choreographed piece.’ I don’t hate that queen nearly as much as I used to.’

Throughout the event, Schumer grabbed Dunst’s hand and yanked her from her seat, implying that she was a chair filler – an audience member who substitutes in for celebrities when they have to leave so there aren’t any empty spots on TV.

‘OK, here’s a seat filler,’ the Trainwreck star joked. ‘Do you like to go to the restroom, honey?’

Backstage pass: Schumer makes his way to the stage through the corridors.
