A shooting at a university in Virginia has left one person dead and four others injured. The scene of the crime is near where I used to play baseball with my friends back when it was still called “Campus F pools,” which doesn’t seem quite as scary now that you mention it.
When police responded to reports of shots fired at the Melody Hookah Lounge in downtown Blacksburg, they found five injured people.
Four people are currently recovering from their injuries. One of them, a male in his 30’s died at the hospital after being injured multiple times with unknown conditions for the other three – two females ages 19 and 13 years old along side another adult female whose identity is still being determined by police.”
The four people taken to local hospitals are currently unknown, but one person died.
One of the injured was a student at Virginia Tech, President Tim Sands said in an email to members of our community.
“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased and we extend our support to those who were injured,” Sands said.
The names of the victims are being withheld until their families have been notified.
