The games will feel the same, but they will look nicer when played in portable and tabletop modes. The addition of an Ethernet connector on the dock is good, as is the increase in storage capacity to 64GB, but the Nintendo Switch OLED is clearly a progression rather than a revolution. The Nintendo Switch OLED resembles both the original Switch and its 2019 update. It has the same button layout as the original, as well as the iconic brilliant Neon Blue and Red color palette.
However, the new White variant will be the one you see the most online in the run-up to the Switch OLED’s arrival. This more subdued, mature color scheme is what we anticipated to see on the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro. The new White Switch OLED is the closest we’ll get for now, and many of leaks believed to be pointing at a Nintendo Pro are found in this redesign.
Nintendo Switch OLED Dimensions
This provides the new Switch a less dated appearance and ensures that, despite the usage of a bigger screen, there is no major change in size with the previous model. It’s 0.1 inch longer, measuring 9.5 x 0.55 x 4 inches (W x D x H).
This means that whatever Joy-Con controllers you purchase will operate perfectly with the Nintendo Switch OLED.
Nintendo Switch OLED Improvements
Nintendo has also improved the Switch’s wimpy kickstand, making it far less brittle. It now goes across much of the rear of the console, which we discovered keeps it more firmly upright. When playing in tabletop mode, the stand is also movable, allowing for varied viewing angles.
Nintendo Switch OLED Speakers
The Switch OLED’s speakers have also been modified by Nintendo. They’re still on the bottom of the handheld, one on each side, and provide better audio than the original speakers. They’re significantly more punchy and dramatic, and they don’t distort even at full volume.

Other significant design modifications have occurred. The original Switch’s display’s heavy bezels have been greatly reduced, and the 6.2-inch LCD panel has been replaced with a brilliant 7-inch OLED panel.

The OLED Switch, like previous models, comes with a dock that allows you to play games on your TV. However, it lacks the 4K output that many anticipated in a Nintendo Switch Pro console. When docked, 1080p is the maximum output resolution, but in handheld mode, the display is 720p.
Nintendo Switch OLED: Added Pros
We do receive an Ethernet (LAN) port as an added bonus. In addition, Nintendo has increased the internal storage capacity of the Switch OLED from 32GB to 64GB. If you need extra space, you may also use a microSD card.
The battery life remains the same as that of the upgraded Nintendo Switch, ranging from 4.5 to nine hours. This is better than the 2.5 to 6.5 hours offered by the original Switch, although the OLED Switch offers no significant improvement in this area.
