Windows 11 Build 22504.1010 (KB5008697) Preview Version Released

Insiders on the Dev Channel have gotten a new Windows 11 build 22504.1010 (KB5008697). The new release doesn’t bring anything new to the table; instead, it’s a cumulative upgrade that the business is using to test its service pipelines, as it is known to do. The most recent such upgrade was only a week ago.

These servicing pipeline modifications are required to ensure that builds are delivered to consumers without any notable faults or interruptions.

So, during the press release, the tech giant stated-

“This update does not include anything new, and aims to test the service pipeline we have built in the development channel.”

As of writing, the Dev channel now has all of the bug fixes and enhancements from the previous Windows 11 Build 22504 version. This update, according to IT Home, has a redesigned “Your Phone” application, unique input method themes, customized emoticons, and more.

According to Microsoft:

“To further personalize your Windows text input experience, we have expanded the 13 themes for the touch keyboard to now apply to our other input experiences, including IMEs, the emoji panel, and voice typing. Also available for all themed experiences is the theme engine that allows you to create a fully customized theme including background images. You can find all this under the new “Text Input” section under Settings > Personalization. This isn’t available to all Insiders just yet as we plan to monitor feedback and see how it lands before pushing it out to everyone”.

“We have added the ability for personalized combinations of emoji based on face and skin tones of family members, couples with heart, kissing, and people holding hands. Just open the emoji panel (WIN + . ) and try these combinations out by typing the following in the search box: family, couple, holding hands, or kissing. This isn’t available to all Insiders just yet as we plan to monitor feedback and see how it lands before pushing it out to everyone.”

Interestingly, despite the fact that this build version has no new changes, a service test builds like that might disrupt some functionalities. For instance, the x64 emulator on the ARM PC had issues with the prior Windows 10 Build 21292.1010.
