Fortnite Developers Shut Down A Twitter Handle That Leaked Upcoming Skins & Items

Epic Games is taking a strong stance on leakers it seems. Following a series of lawsuits against minors for hacking, Epic is going after leakers it seems where one of the largest Fortnite leakers just announced that he would be shutting down.

FNBRLeaks was one of the largest Twitter accounts that posted about upcoming in-game items such as skins and items. The twitter handle had also been the backbone when rumors suggested that Fortnite Season 7 would be bringing new snow to the island and it did. All of his leaks were sourced by simply data mining through the latest updates in an effort to find clues of what Epic has planned in store for the future.

However, the leakster didn’t end there either. The user behind the Twitter handle posted tutorials on how to modify the Fortnite’s game files to get the Scythe pickaxe, a pickaxe that Epic Games would usually sell on their in-game store. While the hack did work, it was done locally and had no connection with Epic’s game servers. In order not to get banned, the user also encouraged and educated users to verify their game files before Epic Games pushed out an update for the game.

In a Twitlonger post, the user behind FNBRLeaks said…

Deleting my Twitter at the Request of Epic Games.

I am not going to go into specifics with this, but. Due to the request of an Epic Games Attorney who i’m not going to disclose, my Twitter, Discord, YouTube, Instagram, and GitHub must be deleted, or else they will take action. Thank you all for the support and followers over my 7 month span of the FNBRLeaks twitter. Sadly, everything comes to an end.

Thank you,
Preston aka FNBRLeaks.

For those who are unaware, FNBRLeaks had his account removed earlier this year as well but came back to fruition a day or two after the ban. But this time, it seems like FNBRLeaks is gone for good.

Whether the removal is being enforced for encouraging modified game files or for the leaks would remain a mystery. While Epic would most probably never comment on the ban, it seems like the former of the two encouraged Epic Games to proceed with legal action.
