Samsung’s Exynos 9820 SoC For The Galaxy S10 Said To Be Codenamed As Cheetah

Oh boy, do we have yet another headline regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 and Note 10 SoC, dubbed as the Exynos 9820. This time, yet again from our trusty, Ice Universe. In a tweet published minutes ago from the leakster, the leakster has tipped off that the upcoming Exynos 9820 would be codenamed as Cheetah, keeping Samsung in line with their promises as well as with the competition.

Prior to the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the Ice Universe tipped off a few major details regarding the Exynos 9820’s M4. While the at time he did not tease any codenames, what he did tip us off with was the details regarding the SoC and how it would look like. To recap what had been reported earlier, the successor to the 9810 SoC, the 9820 would feature two performance-oriented cores, two mid-range cores and four power-efficient cores. All of these would be tied together and tuned via the DynamIQ architecture.

Prior to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung teased the improvements coming to the Exynos 9810, the very same SoC that would power not only the S9 family of devices but the Note 9 too. According to what Samsung has teased, the Galaxy S9’s Exynos 9810 was capable of recording 4k at 120FPS. While it was certainly a killer feature, it seems like Samsung did intentionally disable it just so that the Snapdragon 845 variants of the device would remain in parity. If Samsung does manage to deliver it this time, it could very well be a game-changer. Not only would Samsung have the bragging rights over its competitors, but if they do, Samsung would very well be on track of being an absolute favorite for content creators around the world. While the case may be highly unlikely due to how rarely the the feature is demanded, but hey, it is said to power one of Samsung’s 10th anniversary device and Samsung better start rolling the hype mill.

Regarding the other possibilities. We’re definitely expecting Samsung to introduce 5G capabilities now that Qualcomm has joined the race. In addition to that, we’re also expecting Samsung to be very wary regarding the internals of their devices is most likely planning to increase the battery capacity on the upcoming Galaxy S10 family of devices. Pair that with these well-improved power-efficient cores and Samsung would definitely have one amazing power-efficient device for the masses and would definitely make it a worthy step up from the Galaxy S9’s lousy battery. Fingers crossed until then.
