It doesn’t get more blatant when the manufacturer actually teases the phone in a video. Xiaomi has recently teased a video of the Xiaomi Mi MiX 3 featuring the slide up a mechanism that allows users to hide the camera sensors.
The Xiaomi Mi MiX 3 is said to bring the biggest upgrade to the Mi MiX 3 lineup featuring a full-view display minus the side bezels. However, it doesn’t end there. In addition to that, Xiaomi’s willing to beat Oppo’s rumored 10GB RAM phone at its game as the Mi MiX 3 is also said to bring 5G along with 10GB RAM. In fact, confirmed by Xiaomi themselves. Not only is the phone said to be a beast, but also seems to be a dream phone that went from concept to reality.
Following Apple’s suit, the Xiaomi Mi MiX 3 is also said to be capable of unlocking Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook when authenticated via the Mi MiX 3. In addition to that, the Mi MiX 3 is also said to bring up to 256GB of internal storage and that the phone would come in three colors at launch.
What we are personally intrigued to see is how Xiaomi managed to beat the others to the race. We’ve already caught hints of 5G in the past. In fact, Snapdragon 855 was spotted in an official presentation hinting the 855 to feature 5G. Additional rumors then followed, suggesting that the Snapdragon 855 has begun mass production, hinting to the fact that everything has been finalized as we head closer to 2019.
What’s undoubtedly the killer feature would be the fact that the Mi MiX 3 would feature 5G connectivity. While it seems to be too early of a candidate, it certainly has our attention for how well 5G works on the device. In a report by The Verge, Qualcomm managed to simulate the capabilities of 5G in real-world tests. According to Qualcomm’s report, real-world 5G speeds should be around the 1.4Gbps mark at this very point. While 5G is still in its infancy stages, the max achievable speeds with 5G is said to be up to 20 Gbps.
With the announcement of the Mi MiX 3, we’ve passed the first step of 5G. Hopefully, the Galaxy S10 follows suit with the advancement of 5G.
