Epic Games Is Planning To Nerf Building In Fortnite

Fortnite is without a doubt the most popular battle royale game out there. After garnering massive success, it seems like Epic’s series of nerfs are on their way to shake some things up a bit.

As everyone who has played Fortnite or has hooked into a few Fortnite streams, it’s evident that learning how to build in the game is really necessary. Not only do players often use them to build stuff, but to also defend themselves. Recently, Epic decided to talk about how they’re willing to shift the way how players play Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode. Their keen interest in seeing how players are behaving has led them to nerf a few perks in the game. Followed by the Llama nerf that they incorporated last month, Epic Games is now looking to nerf the building mechanic in Fortnite.

Epic Games talked about how they feel about how players play Fortnite. They talked about how and what are some of the ways they could nerf the building craze and actually bring some strategy gameplay into play rather than just a build-off fight.

Over the next few months, it seems like Epic Games is preparing to make some massive changes to the core mechanics of the game. In the process, I’m pretty sure that this would put a ton of players off for the sole purpose that learning how to build isn’t an easy process.

Epic Games hasn’t clearly said what they’re willing to nerf. However, these changes are definitely coming and would receive quite a fair amount of hate. Since they’re acting pretty vague about what they’re planning to nerf with the building mechanic, it’s not hard to speculate the possibilities of what areas Epic Games could nerf in the game.

This means that we could see limits being imposed on the number of materials you could farm, change how much HP the materials would have, how fast could structures be built and a ton more.

This was without a doubt one of the key aspects of how Epic Games differentiated themselves from PUBG in the first-place. However, nerfing the core mechanic that has created its own skill gap simply tells me that hate is coming towards Epic’s way. It personally seems like Epic is trying to enlarge a new casual audience by giving them a chance to enjoy the game. Not good Epic, not good.
