The Exynos 9810 Galaxy S9+ Is Actually 40% Faster Than Its Predecessors

Samsung has had an excellent history with manufacturing SoC chips. With the company announcing the debut date of the S9+ within a week’s time, everyone’s excited to see what the South Korean giant has to offer in 2018. Despite all of the leaks and renders, we’ve finally got our hands on the earliest benchmarks results from the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Exynos variant.

Last last month, Samsung announced that they have started mass production of their Exynos 9810 SoC. Back then, the company had originally promised that the Exynos 9810 would be 40% faster compared to its predecessors. What we weren’t assured of is if the 40% performance increase is over some random Exynos SoC or if Samsung actually hit the jackpot by manufacturing a 40% faster SoC over the S8’s Exynos variant which packs an Exynos 8895 SoC. And it seems like, they did!

Based off of the most recent benchmark test that has appeared on GeekBench, it seems like Samsung has switched their ludicrous mode on. Their new 10nm SoC isn’t only capable of some amazing tasks, but is said to also record upto 4k/120FPS according to Samsung.Taking a look at the benchmark of an alleged S9, the Samsung Galaxy S9 scored 3773 in single-core tests. While the multi-core score soared to over 9000. No, that’s not an anime reference. The Samsung Galaxy S9’s scored 9024 in its multi-core tests.

Taking that into perspective, in comparison, the Exynos variant of Samsung Galaxy S8 with the 8895 SoC scored 1953 in single-core tests. While the multi-core tests reached a respectable 6428 in its Geekbench test results.

That’s about a 93% performance increase in single-score tests. While there a 40.38% increase in multi-core tests.

What has be to accounted is that these scores came from an alleged Samsung Galaxy S9, so the final results may differ if this wasn’t a genuine test. And if it was, the day to day performance on the Samsung Galaxy S9 would be no-different compared to an S8 fresh out of its box. You wouldn’t notice much of a difference.
