Japanese Super Mario Odyssey Sales Hit Half A Million In Just 3 Days

Nintendo continues to gain momentum as we put an end to 2017. 2017 was a huge year for the folks over at Nintendo. Not only did the Nintendo Switch prove to be a huge hit, but the games that came along with it lead to the success of the console.

With Nintendo’s trump card, Mario Odyssey finally hitting stores on the 27th October, Japanese fans couldn’t resist picking up the old platformer. With the title easily claiming first place in weekly sales rankings in Japan, the folks over at Nintendo should be amazed by the huge success they’ve garnered with the launch of the title. Afterall, the trailer was more than just a hype builder.

According to a weekly report by Famitsu, the platformer sold over 512K units over a period of just 72 hours which is really mind-boggling. On top of that, being a first-party title, Nintendo has done some amazing enhancements and optimizations to the game in tablet and docked mode as well.

Nintendo’s plan of timely releasing the best titles is working out amazingly for them. Not only has the company regained its recognition, but the company is working in a more transparent way giving gamers what they want. And with the 3rd party game developer support that Nintendo has opened, I don’t think these types of sales figures would be going down anytime soon.
