Asus is one of the biggest manufacturers in almost every PC-centric market. Despite the company’s recent expansions, the company is very well known in the PC community for its excellent slew of graphics cards. With all of the GTX 1070Ti rumors being confirmed, Asus has its own set of cooler to slap onto the GTX 1070Ti for enthusiasts to enjoy.
This is indeed some excellent news and saddening news for those who owned GTX 1070s. Regarding specifications, we could expect some excellent thermals with some excellent clocks. Here’s the spec sheet The GTX 1070Ti isn’t much of an upgrade and is an absolute no-no if you would ask us if the upgrade is worth it.
GPU | GPU Die | Clock Speed | Boost | Stream/CUDA | Memory Clock | Pricing |
Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070Ti | GP104 | 1607MHz | 1683MHz | 2432 | 8GHz/GDDR5 | $499/RM2649 |
The Asus ROG GTX 1070Ti features identical clocks compared to the Founder’s Edition GTX 1070 Ti. However, taking Asus’s reputation into account, Asus’s ROG Strix GTX 1070Ti should be able to keep thermals better compared to the standard card even in Asus’s OC mode that pushes the card’s clocks to 1759MHz which should yield a few more frames.
What is disheartening is that Nvidia’s Pascal cards have only received price increases as the rest of the world. Despite the $499 price tag for gaming enthusiasts from the USA, the card would retail for about RM2,649 which approximately translates to about $625.
Overall, seems like an excellent card and would be one of our top choices if you were deciding to pickup a new GPU. This absolutely looks like Nvidia’s last minute decision to defame AMD’s RX Vega 56 that stole the crown from the GTX 1070. Until then, enthusiasts should keep their eyes peeled for any holiday season sales coming in the upcoming months, especially November’s Black Friday and Christmas sales.
