Project Scorpio is Microsoft’s upcoming behemoth that is touted to run games at full 4K ultra-HD resolution. Yesterday, Microsoft removed the mention of hi-fidelity VR from Xbox Scorpio’s website. The console was revealed at E3 2016 with VR in mind. Xbox Scorpio is going to support Hi-Fidelity VR, according to Microsoft at E3 2016. However, things got a bit sketchy as Microsoft removed the mention of hi-fidelity VR from Scorpio’s website. Following the change on Scorpio’s website, a Microsoft representative says that the Xbox Scorpio will support full hi-fidelity VR.
Xbox Project Scorpio Will Support Hi-Fidelity VR, Says Microsoft Representative
After the removal of mention of hi-fidelity VR, news started popping up around the internet. GameSpot contacted Microsoft and their spokesperson told GameSpot:
“When Project Scorpio ships later this year it will be the most powerful console ever built with a 6 teraflop GPU to deliver true 4K gaming, high-fidelity VR experiences, and greater graphic fidelity. We have nothing additional to share at this time.”
The representative of Microsoft did confirm that the upcoming console is indeed going to support hi-fidelity VR but the representative did not explain why the mention of hi-fidelity VR was removed from Xbox Scorpio’s website.
