Since “Brangelina” and “Bennifer” in the 2000s, couple and potential-couple nicknames have been all over the place. Stranger Things fans have been talking about “Byler” since Season 4 aired in July 2022.
Many people are wondering where Byler will go as the eagerly anticipated fifth and final season approaches.
Byler is a combination of two characters from Stranger Things: Mike Wheeler, portrayed by Finn Wolfhard, and Will Byers, portrayed by Noah Schnapp. Fans refer to it as a term for discussing the pair’s relationship. Usually, fans do this when a couple is romantic, and after Season 4, it seems like at least one side has feelings.
Will Byers and Mike Wheeler: friendship, romance, or bromance?
Will’s sexuality in Stranger Things has been the subject of debate ever since the first season. Will is always perceived as quiet and shy. Bullies refer to him as a “fairy” and other derogatory terms from the beginning, hinting at his sexual orientation. Joyce also says that his father would call him a “fag” and that he is sensitive.
Additionally, he appears to be younger than his peers from previous seasons. Will’s development is sluggish compared to that of the others, as evidenced by his declaration to Joyce that he will not “fall in love.”
Will’s “coming out” and the fact that he has feelings for Mike are finally revealed to the audience in Season 4. Will uses artwork as a sort of coded confession to convey his feelings to Mike in Episode 8.
He went on to say that he believes Mike will accept Will and that he wants his story to have a happy ending. Is this a sign that Byler will go? Who can say?
We have been surprised before by the Duffer brothers, but there has been no indication that Will has feelings for Mike thus far.
